How often do you eat fast-food?

Some people don't eat it at all, but for those of you who do: how often?

By fast-food, I mean places like: McDonald's, Burger Kind, A&W, Sonic, Pizza Hut, Jack-in-the-Box, Wendy's, Taco Bell, KFC, Dairy Queen, etc.

That's probably WHY you're low on money....

Jeez, I only eat fast food a few times a month because I am low on money. I'd eat it more often if I could.

Groceries are cheaper than fast food by far.

  • I usually cook my meals from scratch. Made some killer, sugar-free, carob chip and pecan cookies yesterday. Nothing like the taste of home-made food. It's healthier for you too.

Maybe Once per month. I am convinced there is ungodly amounts of sodium and fat in it and I have wanted to prove it to myself by not eating it regularly.
That having been said, my mouth waters at the sight of a Whataburger once in a great while.

  • There were no fast-food restaurants where I grew up - weird. Now they are everywhere.

From a convenience aspect, it seems like a great idea, but the food they serve is crap and destroys your health if you eat there too often. I've tried the salads; I wasn't impressed and they are not very satisfying.

Yeah, and lots of times the salads are not that much better for you than a burger. Same with their "yogurt parfaits" and fruit and oatmeal crap....they make it seem like it's a healthier choice but it's soooo bad for you! The sugar/corn syrup content is through the roof.

I sadly almost ate it daily, as it was near my work, and I would go there on a break. And when I didn't work, I would usually go out and just get fast food because it's super convenient (that's how they get ya). But I am trying to test myself how long I can go without it, and it's been over a month. I am thankful that all that cholesterol isn't going into my body! Fuck fast food!

There is a wonderful regional chain near me that serves only local and seasonal items. Their meat is hormone and antibiotic free. They also have very tasty spicy black bean burgers and turkey burgers on the menu. In the fall they serve pumpkin shakes, sweet potato french fries, walla walla sweet onion rings, and deep fried mushrooms. It isn't healthy to eat, but it is real food that was grown locally and a company that actually gives back to the community. And their cups are compostable. I'll eat there every few months or so...hmmm I wonder if the strawberry lemonade is back for the summer. And now I'm kind of hungry.

        Oregon, ever hear of Burgerville?

        • Nope. Burgerville - I Googled it; looks yummy.

I have relatives in Washington and Idaho, but I've never been to Oregon.

Too bad all fast food joints didn't give a caloric total with the bill total, that might change some people's habits.

Fast food is often meat-based and I don't eat meat so, by inference, I don't eat fast food.

I did eat meat once, though, and as a kid we used to have KFC each Friday night because it was next to the supermarket and the weekly shop took the timeslot when my parents would normally cook.

When it was my own choice about food, I maybe ate it once a month. Usually because I was drunk and had the munchies.

The only fast food I eat now is pizza but it can't really be considered fast because I make it from scratch.
