I bite my nails all the time & I never had long nails. Its a habit and I mostly do it when I'm nervous or upset. Ugh..Am I alone?

I am like you, i have NEVER had long nails. I'm 17, and ever since i could remember, have always bitten my nails. Trying to stop, but as you know, its very hard.
For those people who say "It's filthy and disgusting and you should stop!", it's not that easy! I've been trying for years to break the habit, but it is extremely difficult, considering I often do it subconciously.
I used to bite my nails because I could not bear clippers or scissors. Then one year my girl friend bought me a manicure & Massage for Christmas.
I enjoyed the whole experience so much that I stopped biting my nails and try to have a repeat three or four times a year.
I now have normal nails.
uck i never bite my nails but most of family does. my nails are long and sharp
i bite my nails wen they get too long, to cut them without scissors which takes about a month, and i dont bite them until the next month wen they get too long
i think i'd rather see someone smoking a cigarette than biting their nails. it is seriously a filthy and unhealthy habit.
You know what? Cigarettes are the very worst, most disgusting poison you can KILL your body with, that if you were to smoke as often as some people bite their nails, you'd die in a year. It's disgusting, stinky, dirty, and expensive. Nail-biting makes then short. SO THE HELL WHAT? Get a grip.
