How normal is it that my eyes water when i go to the bathroom?

It's almost like I'm crying, but there's no reason for me _to be_ crying, so I figure my eyes are just watering.

There isn't any pain or anything, besides, well you know the strain. It's only when I go #2.

I don't ever even feel like I'm about to pop a blood vessel either. I just sit down...and my eyes are suddenly leaking.

It's been happening for as long as I can remember (that's only back to when I was like, around 7) and I think my Grandma said something about taking me to the doctor's to see what it was all about, but she never did.

Any insight?

It is actually normal for some people to cry when they poop. The urge to defecate is part of a natural process. Your brain tells your bowels that it is time to use the toilet. Yet the same parasympathetic system controls your tears, so the signals can get confused. This is more common than you may think. You might only figure out that this does not happen to everyone by comparing yourself to what your friends tell you. But don't worry, this is normal for some people. Some people even sweat or have blood pressure changes when they defecate too.

Dr Oz said that it is actually normal for some people to cry when they poop. If you look at how your brain makes decisions, going to the bathroom happens naturally. Your brain sends a message to your colon and says go to the bathroom, but the same parasympathetic system controls your tears, and so the signal can get crossed. Dr Oz said that this is not rare and some people only figure out that this does not happen to everyone by comparing themselves to what their friends say. Dr Oz said that some people can sweat or have blood pressure changes when they poop too!

  my eyes have been watering for both 1 and 2 all my life i havent told my family evr and im in my own place now it doesnt seem to matter much anymore my husband knows but he never really said anything bad i thought bout goin to the doc but never decided to

Well I think its normal and not normal at the same time. Its normal coz I get the same thing happening to me, only difference is that my eyes don't water when I go to the bathroom, but instead my left eye waters after I've put make up on which is wierd. Its not normal coz thats not supposed to happen anyway unless you're near some onions! lol.
