How much should you have to hold in your stomach

How much effort should you use to hold in your stomach or ab muscles? I have had a small protruding pot belly and by habit I have always sucked in. No matter how little I eat I feel as if I have to suck in. Is it possible to be thin enough to just let go without that sucking in feeling?

Beebop..if I did it I'd look like a skeleton! Lol! So no...not everyone does it but it is normal. I hate that you feel you have to do that. Some find a little belly sexy! Just be comfortable with the beautiful person you are!!

There is a simple solution: Just go on a *low-carbohydrate* diet. The pot belly is from eating foods that are high in carbs.

You could also try abdominal exercise or wearing clothes that will hide the bulge in your tummy so to speak.Best of all exhale and know that you are obligated to no one to answer about your belly. We can't all look the same and we don't and won't.Best wishes and stop worrying so.

When you love yourself, you accept yourself with flaws and all, besides there is no person who is perfect in that regard.Even beauties feel inadequate in certain areas, they just don't let on.It must be burdensome to always have to be sucking in.Why not relax and live!

You are always supposed to suck in your stomach as much as you can, it is healthy

Yes it is called having a flat stomach. Have you not seen one where you live? This kind of thing is possible and they do exists in this universe. Why don't you just use those body shapers? They redistribute your weight you don't have to suck it in. Some people have said they eat less and lose weight as a result from wearing one. So might prove helpful.

  • I was told that 'crunching' your tummy was a good way to firm them

It is natural human behavior to try and look better than you are for presentation's sake. (ie. make up) I do it too.

You might as well get used to it: if you give-up before you die, gravity will win.
You want to maintain the strength of your entire torso, front, back and sides, to stay healthy and pain-free.
Google %%u201Ccore muscles%%u201D or %%u201Ccore exercises%%u201D to get some ideas.
