How much of your body would you consume to save yourself?

When I was a young teenager I used to think that if food ran out could I cut of my dick and use it as bait to catch fish.

Meh I'll just give up and die.

None, if the times were that dire then I'd jump to theft instead. Also, it would be sooo hard to self amputate then cook yourself.

If you were already starving there would be nothing left to eat. You'd literally burn more calories preparing it than you would get from it, not to mention all the other problems.

So me, an intellectual, would kill myself.

None of it! Also I would rather that other people starve to death than eat my corpse.

I know this is one of those daft hypothetical questions, but it's pretty stupid.

When the body is in starvation-mode, it basically starts to consume itself internally, first metabolising fats, then moving on to muscle. If you think of the pictures of concentration camp victims that you've probably seen, you'll realise that they wouldn't have got much in the way of nourishment from eating, say, their own leg, because there was really not much there but a few stringy muscles.

And of course qualifying a stupid hypothetical question with equally unrealistic conditions just makes it even dumber. The reality is that anyone whose body is in the advanced stages of starvation is not going to cope well with the trauma of amputation.

None. If it got to the point of cannibalizing myself I know I wouldnt survive for much longer. Doing that without salt or a fridge or anything the meat you cut off wont last long. You could maybe get 2 weeks of life before you are done to one arm. At wich point you'll just lay there and die in agony and regret

And this is not counting infection blood loss etc. If you get to that point you are dead already

I think I’d just let myself die.

My left arm I don't use it that much.

Probably my boobs. I don't technically 'need' them for anything.
