How much money do you have in the bank right now?

How much money do you have in the bank? I mean that if you had to come up with cash today, what is the maximum amount you could withdraw? If you can provide details on your age, marital status, and whether or not you worked for the money or if it was given to you in the comments it would be great.

I'm 23. I have about 4k saved up in the bank. I will say I am VERY fortunate to have the parents I do because they payed for my college AND many other things during and after that time. They've also programmed my brain to enjoy saving money and by this years end I will have about 16k saved up :)

    • You are lucky that your parents paid for your college and other expenses. I'm glad you realize that you are lucky and seem to appreciate it because many people in your situation don't.

    • I agree!

When I was first out of high school I probably had about $1,000 I had saved through part time jobs. I'm a grown ass man with a real job and a decent amount of money, but damn, these kids must come from cash.

I am 28 and married. I was never given any money by family. My wife and I have been working hard at saving and have around $15,000 in the bank. I don't know if that is a lot for our age group, but it seems like I never feel like we have enough money to be "safe" in the case of an emergency.

Sounds like a social engineering project to me. This asks for too much information.

I was thinking the same thing...

    • Lol, no, just curious. I mean I realize the amount saved will likely increase with age, but I was wondering if the average 30 year old has $20,000 or $2,000.

Couldn't you get much better information doing a search on Google? The dozen or so people who will respond won't give you any indication of any form of accuracy for any place, age, or gender.

And the kind of information you're asking for is really odd for simple curiosity. You're asking for amount you could withdraw, age, marital status, and whether you worked for the money.

To me, that sounds like social engineering and I'd be reluctant to provide any information. Even if you're not asking for the information for malicious reasons, that doesn't mean someone couldn't come on here and use the information as a way to target people.

16, student, occasional very small jobs but mostly from the compulsive horading of any allowance I get and lack of need to buy anything. Around £1500, which means about $2300.

I liked those when they first came out, but they just seem so common now... Still a very cool car though.

In all seriousness I don't have a bank account, and if I did it would either be completely empty, or have £2 in it (that's the amount in my purse at the moment). My mum has an account, but that probably has no money in it either xD

    35. Married. 2 kids. Working. Bills, bills, bills (please don't let Destiny's Child sue me - I will have even less!!). After all bills are paid then usually have between £500 and £1,000 in the bank however I have not included shopping or petrol costs as these fluctuate.

    27, student, maybe $120 :P

Kinda traded my early degree, financial stability, and fostered sense of responsibility for traveling the world and generally engaging in hedonistic activity.

A little over 21.000 euros, which would be around 27.250 dollars (according to Google's converter).

I like saving money. I only buy stuff I really need (except movies/games/music every now and then).
