How much less attractive is someone because of a cross-eye?

So I´m a guy who´s had a cross-eye since I was born. My right eye is looking more inwards than it should but my left eye looks where it should :) This have been a really big complex for me and I feel like I can´t make eye-contact without looking like a complete retard, though I´ve never been a situation where someone doesn´t realize I´m actually looking AT THEM. I´ve also never been bullied for it, never as I said I earlier gotten any, Are you looking at me? comments. So I´m really confused whether it´s very visible or not cause to myself I can´t go a day without looking in the mirror like 50 times and every time feel terrible for the fact that one eye isn´t aligned, maybe I see it more clearly than others? This have been a really big problem for me cause I´ve become really shy. And if it´s very visible how unattractive can it make you?

    I almost never notice this. I had a friend who had a lazy eye and I never even saw it, somebody (my mom I think) mentioned it and even after it was pointed out I still never noticed it. I mean, I saw it because I was purposely checking but it just never stood out to me even after being made aware of it. And there was several other times I was completely oblivious until someone said something.

    I'm rambling here so to wrap it up, I probably wouldn't find someone like you less attractive for this reason. I think you might be overcritical of yourself too...we tend to think our physical flaws are worse/more noticeable than they actually are.

      Thanks for your view, that´s what I "fear" too. That I´m just so conscious about it that I see it a lot more clearly than it actually is.

    I don't think it makes you and more or less attractive. When you meet someone who likes you for YOU, they're not gonna care about things like that.

    My boyfriend is insecure and doesn't even like to take pictures because he has a bump on the higher portion of his nose. Did I notice it when I met him? Yes. Did it make him any less attractive to me? No, it didn't..I actually ended up thinking it was adorable because when you love someone for who they really are, imperfections become perfect to that person.

      Thanks for your comment! Well I can definitely agree that imperfections can be perfect to some persons, like I think lazy eyes that looks away from the nose is attractive, is that just me or are those kinds of lazy eyes actually attractive??

    Usually, it's a show stopper for romantic relationships. Best thing is to wear light tint sunglasses.

        Almost the same. Remember this: stage presence can distract your date. He wants to know what you are like. He's not there to inspect you. Focus his attention on your hands. Keep you head moving. Nighttime is good. If you have a warm sense of touch, stand behind him and rub his shoulders. Close your lazy eye.

    Any deformity is unattractive. It's a disadvantage but hardly a game over. Improve what you have the power to change, and improve a little each day to build up confidence in yourself.

      The thing is that I don´t find every deformity unattractive and I don´t think you actually do either when you think about it which makes it really hard for me to decide how unattractive my deformity is, for example: Should I try to hide it? Should I wear tinted glasses? Should I only look people in their eyes from certain angles? You get my point. Yes I would definitely not perfect even if I wouldnt be cross-eyed so, Yes!, I can definitely work on other things, like work out etc, but it´s really hard to get motivation to improve when it feels like I have this flaw that makes me unattractive no matter what I do...

        It seems like the word 'deformity' got a reaction out of IIN. Thing about attraction is that it's purely superficial and it's instant, and it's based on very primal urges. This is different than love, this is hip-to-waist ratio, symmetrical face, straight teeth and so on. At the very basic level it's a measure of health for mating. But it's the summation of a thousand things: you can definitely still be attractive with a lazy eye.

        What you should do is not to worry about what you can't change. You say you're a man but the tone of your text doesn't sound like one. Embrace your masculinity—which by the way, doesn't give a shit where your eye is looking. Women can smell weakness in a man like nothing else, so don't see your eyes as a weakness and they won't either.

    My eyes don't work together either, and the only time that my left eye isn't looking into nothingness is if I use it alone...

    Don't worry about it, as someone can still find u attractive even with weirdness going on like that...

    My current boyfriend has a lazy eye and I dont even notice. He has learned to accept it and I dont think of him as less attractive, its barely if at all noticeable and its not like he can control it anyway.

    Sometimes what we consider a flaw about ourselves - other people will very attractive. We are in a world with BILLIONS of people. You can definitely find someone good and descent who will love u for u. Don't sell out to be accepted by someone. Keep hold of your pride and principles. Best of luck!!

    Get prism glasses or surgery. Crossed eyes brings your attractiveness down about 2-3 points depending on how severe it is.

      I have pretty much been denied that, since if I would there´s a big chance I would see two "pictures" of the world at the same time and therefore hinder me, even though I myself still wanna do it, maybe I will be able to do it if I do at a private clinic were I pay it. Even if I would see double after the surgery they can fix that by making my right eye "weaker" so my left eye becomes completely dominant. So the problem is that the hospital does not wanna take the risk because it could lead to me having problems driving cars etc, but the thing is that I would actually rather be a happy man than be able to all those things living a life always being worried that I may look retarded or can´t make eye contact. I don´t know maybe I´m just in a really big rut right now and maybe I should instead work on my confidence.
