How much is the us government shutdown affecting you?

If you're in the US, how far do you feel you're personally affected by the government shutdown? I'm not in the US but I'm still concerned for and have sympathy for people who are. It sounds like a bit of a nightmare in many ways. Please vote away and share your stories if you want to. Perhaps it might even help eachother out or give advice? I know it's just an is it normal post but never know. Just a thought.

A LOT, it's really affecting my life. 1

It hasn't affected me yet. Besides being pissed off at the stupidity of it all.

I have actually seen signs up at a couple of parks that say "parks closed due to government shutdown..."

Think I'll flip one off, take a picture of said act, and post it online for people to see.

It bewilders me that a government can just shut down... I expected that from some backwater country or a banana republic, but the United States of America? Are you kidding me?!

I wanted to go to a museum the other day and couldn't. That is the extent of which I've been affected.

Eh, there are some services not being made available to some of us folks in the military, mainly uniform services. That and there is the pervasive worry that we will not get paid. There is paperwork being backed up for some soldiers here to process into certain places because the civilians who handle that are not working (because they are not getting paid).

So yeah, it's making life difficult =/

just a bit i guess. I recently received my social security card to work in the US, but they made an error with my name on the card and I have wait till the government is back to be able to change the name. Anyway it affected me because i went to go get my permit and couldn't because of the name, so now i just have to wait.

Quite a bit actually. My dad works for the government and so has been off work for the last couple weeks. Luckily, he's been able to wrangle together other work to do, but it's still difficult on my parents.
