How much government take out for taxes?

This site has people from different areas and countries so the answers might vary. Where I live we pay a lot even if you don't make a lot of money. That is just where I live though. So I was curious to see what the tax rate was in other countries. I mean from your paycheck not things like added sales tax. Click your percent and if you like which bracket you are in. You don't have to if you feel it is too personal. I am wondering how it varies in other type of governments.

23% in Britain, with health service included. You also have tax on most things you buy, also road tax if you drive. They just have taxes on everything.

the gov. takes 21% of my check in takes, then after that I pay tax on food, gas, property, alcohol , school supplies. anything we buy taxes are taken out. so, after the initial 21% taken from my check plus the taxes I pay on everything I buy, the government takes 80% or more of what I make. so, if they are taking 80% or more of everyones money....why is there a deficit again?

  • Just over a third of our net income goes to personal income tax each year.

Over here we use a progressive income tax system so the income tax rate depends on your income.

So it can vary from 10.5% to 33% - but there is a levy built into the tax for our National Accidental Insurance scheme that covers everyone here.

The government takes about 22%. That's combined federal and state. And I just received a notice from the county that they want some money too. But instead of telling me how much to pay, they want me to do math. But I don't mind it too much, I'm content with what I pay.
