How many presents do you/ santa get your children for christmas?

I did a poll on birthday gifts and so far learned most get 1-5. Now I am wondering if it is the same for christmas?! I guess I have been overdoing it! Also wondering what if the price range per child is. I have 3 young children btw.

1-5 46
5-10 55
10-15 48
15-20 31
20-30 49

My parents often just give me cash-in-hand nowadays. Normally about the same as for birthdays. I had a friend whose family wouldn't let him celebrate Christmas because they were all Jehovah Witnesses :(

I get 1-2 presents always. As my family is extremely poor, the gift is usually 10 dollars.

Ideally the point is to make the occasion as special as possible, especially for those of a young age, while maintaining a sense of decency and appreciation. I enjoy the feeling of wonder that goes into holidays for children that is often lost on those of a certain age. In my experience the number of gifts was never precisely the same, but there was always a larger gift that was most desired, and likely most expensive, that was accompanied by smaller, often a bit more practical gifts.

Depends, I get about 10. It all depends on money and how much you wanna spend on the kid.

In my experience, Christmas is somehow more about unwrapping presents than Birthdays are, so 3 or 4 small gifts, a card and 1 'big' gift is fun. That's how my mum does it for me and my brother (although now we're older our 1 big gift isn't so big :D). Most of the small gifts are chocolate or similar. The price range depends on how rich you are and what the present is.

It is all up to you though. Each family is different, each culture is different, each child and each parent is different. You're the best judge.

1 gift usually small my child has to learn that toys are for children and that under my roof it is strict military like parenting. I got her a bigger present last year but it turned out to be a tool box with some tools for me so I could teach her how to do simple house repairs that was my gift to her that many parents neglect to teach their children
