It takes a while before you earn thumbs down privileges, something about karma and if you follow the rules
I just assume as I’ve heard it said by other people.
I had to make this account recently because I messed up my email for my first account, and I didn’t start out with a thumbs down on this one. I heard you have to wait for the thumbs down and for member chat rights
I lost my ability to downvote. I had the ability to downvote when I first got on here. After like 7 months I suddenly lost it.
I've been able to downvote the whole time I've been here. I just don't get what's with the downvote problem. I think there might have been one time where I didn't have the ability to downvote for like a week, but besides that, I've never had to deal with that problem. Maybe the site owner likes me; I don't know.
Present for the count, here since 2011 on various accounts and will be until the site dies or I do, whichever comes first.
A lot of the accounts are inactive and troll account tho. Theres maybe 50 regular users that post here
I'm guessing about 40 active people here. Some stay, some leave, and some are brand new.
Probably only 50 or 60 active users, it's a really small amount of people on here
Probably thousands of people here, half of them quit or don't use this site anymore hence why some are old memories.

1. I think the word you're looking for is "antithesis" not "antiphysis"
2. calling people "bitch made" repeatedly while deriding someone else for using what you perceive to be playground-level insults is pretty lacking in self-awareness imo (the sky's the limit, btw)

My thumbs-down option was taken away from me years ago.
It's not something I've fretted about, but I've never been clear on the rules (if any) for that and why that miniscule hammer came down on me. I can be forthright in expressing some of my opinions, but I've never been deliberately nasty just for the sake of being nasty.
It's an enormous struggle for me not being able to disagree with crap with just a click, but somehow I manage.
It's pretty interesting how so many of the users that clearly use the feature maliciously get to keep it while the users that barely used it at all had it stripped from them. I guess quantity is better than quality in some regards? Lol.
I heard that you lose the ability to downvote and post depending on how regularly you're downvoted, which if true is a massive issue for the site because there are little factions that have taken to using the thumbs feature to target other users or spite downvote them due to knowing they can't verbally engage to discredit those they dislike so opt for that feature which causes a chain reaction of those users who didn't engage in the same methods (due to not being a petty bitch) not being able to actually regain the feature because the only people with the feature at present are using that feature to keep others down.
That's if how the process is made, though. I could be wrong.

I recall reading that being down-voted results in members losing the ability to down-vote themselves. I've certainly got my share of down-votes. I have wondered how often that wasn't due to what I actually said, as my habit of going on at length when it seems to me that a query merits a longer response. It does seem to me that lots of people these days are triggered by text that's longer than the Tweet limit.
But you may be right; it could be that there is (or was) a clique that automatically down-votes anything I post.
Again, it's a heavy burden to bear and I'm sure I'll lose sleep over that tonight, but I imagine I'll cope.
I'll be honest I'm also one of the types that don't like the long comments but I've never thought it's something to downvote someone on, especially if it would take away their ability to use a feature on this site (downvote option).
I'm over it when it comes to me personally, I had little value in the thumbs option before I had the feature taken for me and for aabout a year or two prior I never even use it, I still don't use it to thumb up people but maybe I should start doing it to help new users not get put into a situation where they can't use the thumbs option.
What does irk me is that there are users on here that will never get the feature because there are a certain "class" of users on this site that got ahead of everyone and downvotes anyone that disagrees with them and then at the end of the day when only the people like them can vote and it results in people they dislike being downvoted and themselves upvoted they sit back and flick their bean over how correct they are as if they hadn't spent years artificially making it impossible for people to downvote them, at the expense of the site.
