The "red tops" are an embarrassment to Britain. I know it may seem normal to us for there to be a topless 18 year-old girl on page three each day, but it isn't. It's like Benny Hill, or Miss World, or the Carry On films. It shouldn't have escaped the 1970's, let alone the millennium.
And the level of journalism? Most of the content is "yah boo sucks" to the other red tops about who got what right, and who reported it first. It's not even schoolyard stuff. It's worse.
I'm sorry that people are out of work, and I'm sorry people are going to have to change paper. Most of all, I'm sorry it's not The Sun. Fans of my football club don't take kindly to false allegations that, during a disaster in which 96 of our number died, our fans abused dead children and urinated on other dead fans.
