Pomosexuality refers to a nonorientation in which people disregard sexual labels altogether. In the world of pomosexuality, the superficial orientation identifications (a.k.a. gay, straight, etc.) are insignificant and not what people should accord to.

Stems from postmodern sexuality.
"Gay/Straight Alliances were the first step toward unification, but they weren't enough. What if neither gays nor straights existed, and were all simply called people? With pomosexuality, there is less reason for division in the world."

    My take is that, like it or not, sexuality labels are useful. Whether they should have a high level or importance or not is up for genuine debate, but in a society where there are sexual differences it is necessary to have words that describe those differences. So I don't think it's sensible to disregard sexuality labels. Getting rid of the words isn't going to get rid of hatred or intolerance or anything else.

    What I think would be more helpful in achieving the aims you are talking about would be to relegate the importance of those labels to mere descriptors, in the same way we do colour of hair or eyes today, and stop using the words holistically to describe "the homosexual lifestyle" or "the pansexual lifestyle". Using the words in that specific way is what promotes division, because it stops us as seeing different people as living in broadly the same was as ourselves. That will hopefully come with time as sexualities other than heterosexuality become accepted as "normal" by more people.

    A few years ago I had stumbled across the wikipedia article for pomosexuality, but it was worded in a way that made me unable to understand it. Now I know what it means, and I'm glad.

    My brain still won't stop associating it with pomegranates though. :|

    I think you are mixing this up with Pansexuality. Pomosexuality is clearly for people who are sexually attracted to pomegranates or for Pomeranians who are looking for love.

      No... That is not what pansexual means. Pansexual means that you like the person not the gender. Pomo means you are against all labels and do not think we should label people gay, straight, bi so on. ITS DIFFERENT!

    Anyone that actually uses that label is just some sort of attention whore. "I'm different! You've probably never heard of pomosexuals before." either that, or the opposite extreme of "DON'T JUDGE ME FOR BEING GAY!!!"

      No. Pan-sexual means you love the person not the gender. Pomosexual is you do not believe we should label gay, straight, bisexual and everyone should be able to sleep with whoever they want but still identify with everyone else.

          There is the following

          Metro-sexual: Acts gay but does not classify as gay, so having sex with people of the same gender or dressing and acting very gay but denying that they are in fact gay(generally this one used by men)

          Lesbietant: A female who Will only have sexual relations with another woman from waist up so still consider themselves straight for not going all the way

          Homosexual:Liking someone of the same sex only

          Transexual: Someone undergoing a sex change to become another gender that they were not already born with

          Transgender:Someone who greatly indentifys with the oppisate gender and feel they are that gender the phrase(Man trapped in a womens body) type of thing

          bisexual:Liking both genders

          Pansexual: Loves the person despite the gender, which would mean things like hemophrodites and crossdressers would not bother them

          Straight:Like people of the oppisate gender

          pomosexual: Deny these sexuality's exist in the first place and refuses to stand by any

          Bestiality: Having sex or being sexually attracted to anything that is not classified as a human

          Asexual: Which now has two meanings. Either that you can reproduce without the aid of a partner like single cell organisms, or that you are not sexually attracted to anyone.

          Hermaphrodite: Someone born with both internal, or external parts of both a man and a woman. The way this work will vary for each person. They could have different combination of parts. Like a dick and boobs, or both a dick and vagina and no boobs. Some have internal girl parts but external male parts. When its internal generally people don't always know about it.

          Forgot the sexuality name for cross-dressers but yeah you could figure out what cross dresser means.

          Some of these sexuality's I believe are people in denial but some might argue otherwise.

            haha wow! I know those but I have never heard lesbiatent. I mean I don't really understand the idea behind a lot of them... then there is one called demisexual, that i seem to identify with, but I wouldn't use that word, most of these labels seem unecessary. I don't understand why "demisexual" even needs a classification, it seems like the most logical one to me (unless I misunderstand the definitions again)
            Also, I always thought transgenders were the sexuality name for cross-dressers.
            where gender = social construct
            as opposed to sex = anatomical distinction

    ~~~Oh my. Lets drop all labels and fall in love with one person/thing. Then you are just you and your sexual orientation would be "Anna" or "Brad" or "Cup" (pansexuals lol)

    For example; I am not gay, straight or bi. Because I have a boyfriend and am not looking for anything or anyone else.

    ^just an idea.
