I had about 300-400.
I got so fed up with the "Oh em gee, my life sucks.", "oh em gee, all guys are assholes", "Why can't I find a nice guy", etc statuses.
So I deleted the vast majority of them and have about 10-20.
I have 188, all of them being people I know. This id due to my having lived in 5 states as well as a US Territory. Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with all of my friends, many of my former educators and co-workers and many people that go to college with me as well as church friends, my previous church pastors and bishops and family members.
I usually do not pay much attention to my friend count although I know that I have been deleted by a few very self-righteous hipsters (what a loss, amirite?) but I love adding people that I know. Life happens, phones get lost, numbers get lost with them, e-mail addresses get deleted, so on and so forth. It's much easier to keep all 188 of my friends on Facebook so I can contact them whenever I need to rather than the alternative.
I enjoy reading their statuses and being able to hear about what they are doing with their lives as well as how they are doing and be able to share in their thoughts and jokes. The only ones that truly annoy me are the ones that constantly post self-righteous shit when I know them in real life and know that their portrayal of themselves as the epitome of morality and intellectualism is pretty off base.
I'm not on facebook, it's well known that it's used by the government to keep track of you.
Well, before I deleted mine, I had about ten, But they were all direct acquaintances of mine I would contact for school work
I have 351 right now, with 27 friend requests. And I do use it every day.
406. I don't understand how people have 1000+, I actually know a couple of people that have 5,000 friends. It's ridiculous.
Also most people don't use Facebook, because it's full of retards.
67, because i only keep ppl on my facebook that i actually like, wich turns out is 67...lol
395. Kind of surprised me. What surprised me even further is that I know who all of them are, a specific memory and reason for adding them, save for about 20.
Not all are "friends" in the strictest of terms, of course. But each one is someone I have a distinct connection with for some reason or another. Work, school, travel, friends of friends, etc.
Sorta amazed our brains can hold all those memories of so many people.
I have around 250 due to some of the jobs I had and the nature of the work. I use to do a lot of political organizing where I worked with some amazing and passionate people. They are now scattered all across the country and it is a good way to communicate with them if I want to. And it's nice to know that if I wanted to drive cross country I could make a facebook announcement and have several free places to crash for the night. But I only pay attention to about 30 of them on a regular basis. Facebook is what you make of it. I don't post status updates very often, and I really don't care what you had for lunch. But I do enjoy my cousin updating her status to let the facebook world know she is an official paramedic. She also post pics of my 97 year old grandmother who I would otherwise not see as she lives 3,000 miles away. But I do get annoyed with the friend who constantly posts conspiracy theories. I just ignore those.
I don't use it any more but I just checked because of an answer to this same question two years ago. I had 120 four years ago. Now I have 105 and 67 new friend requests. With one exception they're all people I've spent a lot of time around, i.e. slept with, been on holiday with, see multiple times every week, worked closely with, was friends at school with...
