How many concerts have you been to?

I've only been to a few unfortunatly. I've seen goldfinger, pearl jam and roger waters back in the 90's. Was supposed to see radiohead but didn't for very stupid reasons. Pissed me off so bad! Its not like they come to the U.S. very often!! And a few years ago I saw tori amos. Who have you seen live in concert? I can't possibly name every musician, band, group, solo artist etc, so tell me please :)

I've never been to one, but I'd love to see..... 25

I've been to 3 proper gigs (Theory Of A Deadman, Lostprophets and My Chemical Romance), plus 2 festivals (Download 2010 and Sonisphere 2011). I've got two gigs lined up in the near future, blessthefall and Motionless In White in October and All Time Low in January.

To anyone who hasn't beem to a live show, I really suggest that you do. I was sceptical at first about how good it would be, but it really is great.

Nevershoutnever. Aren't they not in mainstream still? It's been years since I've listened to them.

Christofer Drew goes and does shows. He's pretty mainstream where I'm from. I don't care about the whole popularity of the music. If I like their music, I like it.
He has some shows in Chicago in a week or two. He's awesome. :)

yeah it was insanely good, but i think the atmosphere at reading just makes it incredible, regardless of the acts. so many bands that surprised me though, really good.

Reading is my favourite festival. I've been six or seven times and seen more bands than I can remember. It's such a long trip for me, but I keep on going.

  • I went to two concerts. First one was Vans warped tour a few years ago. There was Katy Perry, Story of the Year, Cobra Starship, Devils wears Prada, As I lay dying (that's the only ones I remember watching anyways) Then I went to an Atreyu concert.

I missed the Heavy MTL and it had so many awesome bands in there. Bands like Trivium, Godsmack, In Flames, Disturbed and many many more. Oh well, next year!

Concerts have been ruined for me. I went to one once, and some dumb broad was smoking a cigarette next to me; she ended up setting me on fire. :(

I honestly don't know. I like live music and I've probably seen more than a thousand bands. Which sounds a lot but I like festivals and you can easily see twenty bands over a weekend.

So far I've been to these concerts:

    Apocalyptica (2006)
    MacBeth (2006)

    Anathema (2010)
    Scorpions (2011)
    30 Seconds to Mars (2011)
    Katatonia (2011)
    Moonspell (2011)

That and I've seen many local bands.

Kid Rock was my first up in Boston. Then I saw Motley Crew opening for Aerosmith in Manchester, MA i believe. THEN I saw Five Finger Death Punch at the Palladium Feb of '10. I saw Kina Grannis last summer playing a tiny venue at Berkley.
Just recently in April, I saw Bad Religion and a few other little bands opening for Rise Against. :)

  • I never found the whole idea of concerts to be appealing. Why would I go and listen to someone live, which isn't as good as the studio versions, rather than listen to it at home? Not to mention everyone would be screaming and pushing etc, sounds boring to me.

It's not that great to me either. I don't really get into it. I only went to the concerts I did go to because they were free.

That's not necessarily true. Only a few good bands, really, have ever put out great 'live' material. I find that a lot of the times, bands will just play the songs, with little to no creativity in playing the song in a different way. Go to a few concerts, and try it out. You might like it.

Really? I find that I like a lot of live stuff better than studio stuff. Its really a good time
