How many CLOSE friends (i.e., those you can confide in and ask for help when you are in trouble) do you have?
Can you explain why you have so many (or so few, or none) close friends?

One. Cuz she completes me. reflect me.make me better and better..can't imagine how would my life like without her--my best best friend.

I know :)) she still! But i think the key is to accept each other . Nobody is perfect :)) neither am I , I guess but i believe that she does do it on purpose even though it tastes very bad sometimes. But wer okay. I hope we can keep this until we just can't.:)

You are lucky. Unfortunately, I don't have any close friends. People tend to come to me for help, as I am very generous, but the opposite never happens: When I am at the most lonely and desperate moment, the so-called "friends" are never reachable. I usually end up getting help from total strangers, though. So, I still consider myself very fortunate.
I think i can get yr feeling (some angels) somehow ...just open your heart. And you will see. Cuz you deserve it. We all know there is always have bad guys around us every time but it doesn't mean some of them I mean the good ones -- who can give you the best friendship ever dinstinct( disappear like dinosaur for example :))) so .just set yr life free, live with yr heart, let everything comes to you as it goes ( naturally :))
Just one and I am in love with this friend. My friend has been through everything with me. This friend is the only reason why I'm still alive today.
I have another friend that I've told some very personal things to and vice-versa. Despite this, I wouldn't say that we are close. Yet, we are closer in comparison to my other friends. We (I) often don't talk to her for periods of time and haven't see her in years.
It all depends on what you consider a "close" friend. That could mean different things for different people. I would consider myself to have 3 REAL friends. However, I never go to them for help when I'm in trouble. They have come to me for help in which case I do what I can. I'm independent and would rather deal with most problems on my own. If it's an emergency, or I really need help with something, I feel I have friendly neighbors that would probably help me.
By that definition, it's hard to tell. I have some troubles which I can't imagine ever talking to another person about, no matter how close or far. I never feel completely comfortable communicating even my littlest troubles to even my closest friends. I'm definitely a "suffer in silence" type of person (not to say that is a good thing).
I would say I have plenty of close friends. Maybe 5-10? You might say that I'm not close to any of my friends since I can't talk to them about anything, but I would completely disagree.
I've got 3 real friends. I've lost the others to old age and diseases. That's the worst part of getting old.
Half a dozen or so.
Why? Because I like having people i feel safe with and who I can talk to. It's no fun having secrets if you have no one to share them with.
Five, including my brother and sister who are also close friends. I prefer a few truly good friends over a bunch of casual friends you may not be able to count on when the time comes.
