    Is it possible to have 20 close best friends? How can you be close to all of them? I have two, and to me that's enough because we've formed a little misfit group of three and we do everything together. I mean you can have lots of "friends", but how can you have so many CLOSE friends?

      Those damn social butterflies can. It's a pain in the ass trying to get out of the university cafeteria with people like this, they see 20 of their friends and have to talk to each and every one of them.

    Upon reading this I realised that I count my best friend as family so aside from him one friend I'm close with. We've only known each other for just over a month but we were both going through the same thing and have helped each other with it. We had both kept it to ourselves and having someone who knows just made us close. We both agreed that we've never felt closer to someone so fast. Our course group went away for an activity week too and I think that helped. Never met anyone like her in my life.

    I'm going to go with 2. Two that I feel I've known long enough that I can say whatever I want and not feel judged by doing so and who I would share things with that I wouldn't tell other people, or simply that I can connect with really easily. It used to be 3 but now it is 2. *nods*

    I'd say 6, but that's including siblings. Also what constitutes "close"? Do you only mean people you see everyday, or can it include people you don't see very regularly but have meaningful conversations with?
