I know the term "black person" is rather vague, almost useless actually. But for the purpose of this poll, let the term "black person" simply mean anyone that has sufficient African ancestry so that an average American or European would likely refer to the person as such.

i feel like theres only white people from small towns in the usa and from the uk..
I find this irrelevant....I prefer the luxury of relying only on the written word here...for better or worse everybody has something to say here....why not listen and respond without filters?

Oh thank you for posting this! I've always wanted to know this...I hardly know of any black users on here. And btw....in case you hadn't noticed...I'm black ^_^
What is a black person? A person with dark skin? Are southern Italians black, then? Or is it someone with African ancestry? Wouldn't a mulatto have to be called both black and white simultaneously, then, if ancestry determines what you are called? It's a useless term any way you look at it.
Oh okay, well I'm black and spanish. I hardly ever say that. I say I'm black.
Why? Why choose to identify yourself with but one aspect of your genetic makeup? Because of your outward appearance? Why identify with any race at all, for that matter? Is your race what determines who you are?
It's mainly because I look black. Many are not keen about being able to tell if someone is more than one race just by looking at them. I find that I'm pretty good at it though. If you saw me, you'd most likely think I was black.. My skin is the darkest light-medium brown depending on the lighting; caramel colored or peanut butter like. My race doesn't determine who I am personally, but a lot of people do take it into account even in this day and age.
