How long were you on is it normal before you gained access to member chat?

I've been on is it normal for a while now, at least it seems so. In reality, probably just under or over a month. I'm not completely sure.

However, I do know that there are people who have been here for a mere week or less, who already have access to the member chat! But every time I click on "Member Chat," a message pops up and says something along the lines of, "You currently have no access to member chat. Become a positive influence on the is it normal community, and check back in a few days. Blah, blah, blah.." I'm sure you've all seen it.

Well, I log on every other day or so, and every time, I vote and make meaningful comments on several stories. Not to mention, I've already asked several is it normal questions myself, questions I haven't seen, and I'm always using proper grammar, spelling, etcetera.

But still, whenever I check if I have been granted access to member chat, I get the same message as before.

I wouldn't be complaining if I could afford is it normal Gold, but I can't. And I keep seeing stories and polls about how awesome member chat is, and it makes me more and more anxious to participate.

So, how long were you on is it normal before you gained access to member chat? Am I doing something wrong?

    You can find out how long you've been here by hovering your cursor over your username on any comment you send ("Anonymous Poll/Story Creator" comments don't work).

    In answer to your question, I think I was here before the Member Chat time-lapse thing was introduced, and it took me a long time before I bothered trying it anyway, so I'm not sure how long it takes. I also have IIN Gold, so yeah :P

    It might be that there is a minimum number of comments/stories that you need to contribute before you are allowed in the Chat as well as a certain amount of time, I'm not sure.

    Maybe the Management can comment and help you out :)

    Of course, I got a bit of replies and thumbs up.
    Not sure if that had anything to do with it..

    I don't know, I didn't even know it excisted until about 3 months after I got my account and I was like 'Oh what's this!' get in no problem, then get addicted because of all the drama and assholes. Then decide I could be doing better thing with my life and bam, here I am!

    I don't know. By the time I noticed that there was a member chat, I could already get in, though I don't go on much if at all.

    It took me about a few months to notice that I could access the member chat. I believe I signed up before the new "MC" System kicked in, I don't think the system's been up for quite that long, though. You need to make more positive contributions, give good advice and stick around a bit longer.

    I just know there's member chat today. :P
    But I think I can access it (I didn't get the message like you got), I just became an IIN member not long ago, maybe two or three weeks or less, forgot.

    I thought it was like 3 weeks? Not sure about how they do the 'positive influence' thing, if you've been around for a month or so I'm guessing you should be able to go on any day now...

    i had access straight away but that was when it was first introduced. you need to make a positive impact on this site before you are allowed access to the chat.
