How late have you stayed up?

I've been around long, so I've been through long stay-ups. My longest time was 42 hours at a movie camp-out. How about you?

12 hours (I don't try) 11
12-16 hours 19
16-24 hours 55
24-48 hours 123
48 hours+ 92

I've done 76 hours myself, start seeing things and inanimate objects start moving and talking.. that's when you know it's time for bed.

I don't remember what they said, been a while... it definitely was not fun, didn't do it again after that.

Normal, but I think some of you are nuts. I haven't YET done a full all-nighter. I've come really close. And even then I was dead tired and needed sleep. Seriously, almost 2 days? Holy shit.

From 6am Monday to 6:30am Friday. Just over 96 hours. Very disappointed to have come so close to three figures and failed, but I'd never try it again. It almost killed me. I saw some strange things and had strange things happen to me. Both unpleasant and disturbing.

If 15 minute naps are allowed, then the longest I've stayed up is four months. I went through a summer with major sleep problems and 15 minutes here and there kept me going. Had weird out of body experiences that were actually really interesting.

Well with naps I've gone around a week. My pharmacist put me on some wacky drug that had me going back-and-forth napping.

It's said that you go mentally/physically insane when you start to lose sleep -hence you seeing disturbing things... If you don't mind me asking, what type of stuff did you "see"?

Sure, I don't mind at all. The weird things started after about 72 hours. I saw a movement in the corner of my eye, turned my head and saw either an alien or monster staring in at the window. It was so big, it filled the entire window with its face and upper torso. I was very confused and thought maybe I was watching TV so I looked away and looked back; it was still there.

I'd zone out a lot and would notice clocks suddenly skip forward. In those times, I was told I had perfectly normal conversations with people, of which I remember nothing.

I had out-of-body-experiences too, which were actually quite pleasant once you get past the weirdness. I know why people refer to it as being above yourself, looking down, because that's the best our language has to offer. It's a bit like that, but it's more like being inside yourself and outside yourself at the same time, but without this being two conflicting views. It's like seeing a bigger picture.

When I finally did try to sleep, I couldn't. I was seasick in bed and I was seeing an angel made up of lines of glowing blue light at the end of my bed. That was kind of pretty but I felt so mortally ill, I couldn't really take it in.

I don't think I'd do it again, although I still go through scary periods of sleeplessness with insomnia or when work has piled up.

I did some manic phases where I slept less and less over the course of a month or so and couldn't sleep at all by the end. It's hard to tell how long I went without sleep then as I was so out of it.

After coming out of the hospital for the third time, I realized that I have a problem so I sought help and started to be careful and learn about my illness but the meds they gave me then where shit. I really enjoyed staying up for long periods as it's kind of a good anti-depressant. I used to say that anything under 50 hours ain't that bad.

Lately I have better meds and take them regularly so I sleep every night. After 30 hours or so I hit a wall and rarely pass it.

The fifth day I Got in a fight with my mother, walked in my room, and blacked out. I'd been working for a lot of the time, and it took a lot out of me.

I stayed up for almost 72 hours once. Probably the only things that were keeping me awake were caffeine, hunger, and being on the computer.

When I was eleven, I stayed up for a day, overnight, the following day, the next night and then I went to sleep mid day on the third day. I was colouring in the pictures in my colouring activity book. Rofl. Good times.

Needless to say, my parents never bought me another colouring activity book ever again.

Going to sleep at 2-4 has become the norm for me. I really need to stop, so when I go to bed before 12, I'm proud of myself :P. Like, YES! I can get my ass of this computer. Night.

I was homeless had been wearing the same clothes for 2 days, had no where to sleep wandering aimlessly through a small city looking for a place to lie my head. Ended up sleeping for about an hour in a ditch. Woke up, brushed the dirt off then wandered again for the rest of the day until I found the bus home. Since that does not count I'd say 1 and a half days? 30 hours or so?

I think. I don't recommend it myself. at least ... not including alcohol.

last time i did that, i drank two beers. the first one was fine, on the first day as part of my lunch,... the second one was the next day, and o boy. that last swig of beer tickled my gag reflex and *bleh*

ya. i actually got sick from one beer technically. although in my defense it wasn't from the alcohol, just that last swallow. :(
