There was a picture on my news feed this morning of a gas station not too far from here and the road covered by about 3 feet in water, maybe more.

We needed the rain, but god damn. Nature wasn't ready for that shit, yo.

Chicago is never particularly consistent. We were up to 108-112 degrees the other day, and now I think we're back into the late 80s, early 90s. We just had a rather vicious storm, which helped a lot with the heat.

  • Saycheese

Right now it's rather rainy and cool. Which is unusual because we were in a draught for the longest time. Our well water started getting sulfur and when that happens that means our water is rather low.

But it's been in the 90's to 100's here. Oh and too humid.

It is surprisingly perfect today but these last few days have been in the upper 90s (F). I'm currently too lazy to look up the weather, but I'm worried that the heat will pick back up because last I heard, it wasn't forecast to cool down until tomorrow. Not complainin' now though :D

We had that heat wave in the south east USA a week or so ago, it sucked balls.

It was like 104 104 103 three days in a row. I'm originally from Florida and that still baked me.

No kidding, and I had to be outside a lot for my job. I thought I was gonna pass out from Heat stroke some days. I must of drank a gallon of water a day or something. It was brutal. I hate summer. Worst season ever. Give me cold any day of the week over that shit. I'm surprised I didn't melt.

Sounds like a plan to me. So being 71 outside, do you guys even use air conditioning? What temp to you keep your house?

            -
          • tori

We don't have air conditioning. Most houses don't. September is hottest month. We can get into the 90's. Rare for 100's.
I just suffer during that time. 3 fans in my room with all the windows open.
Right now, the inside of my house is 70F. I don't have the heater on. Outside now is 63. My house holds the heat. Good for winter but not summer! But 15 miles away over the hill it gets HOT like you. Everyone has AC there

My apartment stays a cool 70F all year round, so cold I need a blanket in the summer, and so hot I wear shorts inside during the winter. Perfect temperature! I can't imagine a climate that is so even that AC is not even needed! Although I would rather live somewhere where heat is never needed lolz.

    High of 84 F
    Low 57 F
80% humidity - which is a little high for these parts at this time of year.
Partly cloudy 50% chance of rain - translation, it will rain for about 20 minutes somewhere in the region but not all at once.

  • Midwest...highs have been at or near 100(F) for a month, little rain if any. Hotest and dryest spell we've had in 50 years. Much of the world's corn is grown here...and it's withering in the fields.

      • You must live either in Missouri or Illinois? I'm guessing Missouri because it's in worse shape. I saw you mention "Springfield" in an earlier post...but since there are at least two Springfields in every state...I went with the two closest states with recognizable Sprinfields in them:D

I just googled what the weather is like here. So, in Newcastle, UK:

    11°C | °F
    Mostly Cloudy
    Wind: NW at 8 mph

It seems like a pretty normal day, nothing unusual.
