How i feel compassion for my fellows

Is it normal that I'm better able to have compassion for my fellow humans if I see them as big, stupid, hairless apes. I feel better about people when I look at them and see apes.

i see everybody as a turtle.. acting hard on the outside but on the inside are big ol' softies. lol

I feel more sympathy for people thinking "this person, however messed- up, was someone's innocent child once ".
