How hard is it to finnaly do it

Finally me and my girl tried to do it. we both are/were virgins. but i cannot manage to get it in it's tooo hard, before we go to doctor is it normally these hard? We tried to do it two times 1, it's too painful for her 2, we just cannot get it in even with plenty of vaseline!!!! i am 28 she is 22
