I don't really care all that much, because I know that there's so many other religions in the world, that for everyone to agree on one(and it ironically being mine), is just ridiculous.

There's just too many people with so many different beliefs. It doesn't matter. Everyone holds their own opinion and there's always gonna be someone against yours.

I'm a very, very devout Catholic, and it sincerely saddens me when people are horrible to me, or fellow Catholics based solely on faith. I couldn't imagining seeing someone and knowing their religion and making a decision rather I like them or not based on that information alone. I have friends who are atheists, baptist, pagan, almost any and every religion up under the sun. I own a business and I have to work closely with a lot of people, and I find it helps a ton if I actually get to like them. I think some of the other religions are flat out... strange, but I don't judge that person for better or worse for it. I obviously have come to the conclusion that the only possible real religion is Catholicism. I believe in Christ, and if you believe in Christ you have the option of following a religion that A) He himself started and has not changed in the 2012 years since he walked the earth or B) some spin off started by a frustrated lonely man. I came to choice A, which was Catholic.

Working in business and being a devout Catholic has had some disadvantages. There was one time I was working on a financially huge deal (for the both of us) and we were going to discuss it over lunch and I said grace before I ate. It made him very uncomfortable and afterwords he canceled. We both lost a lot of money, but I didn't care since my life isn't all about money, he came back a month later sore but I said I wouldn't work with someone who disliked me based on my beleifs.

Personally some people get WAY to worked up about it. They say some very mean, uncalled for and sick things to people of faith. It's saddening, that they can call us "fu*king retards" and all sorts of names simply because we came to the choice to believe in God. This is not one sided, there are too many Christains who are quick to say "Your going to hell you sinner!" to atheists, which is horrible as well to judge them on their own beliefs.

I live in Denver, and while I don't like sports (and I hate colorado, for that matter), Tim Tebow has gained much popularity. Not so much on his playing, but because he is a Christain. People tell him to stop praying and "leave it out of the game" and others cheer him and the team on solely on the fact that he does pray.

The point I am laboring (and not doing well) to make is that people go crazy over it on both ends. It's sad that you would judge someone positiveness or negatively over something as personal and deep as religion. It would be like ridiculing someone on their sleeping habits (If you sleep on your back, I SWEAR i'll pull out of this business deal!!!) . My earlier example, Tim Tebow, why the hell does it matter? He prays. So what? And? Why should he be more popular, more loved or more hated for it? It's something he does. Just like my example of sleeping. We don't ask each-other our sleeping habits, and it doesn't effect our opinion of eachother. We could care less and it's something we forget about. In school my descriptor became "Catholic k

I do not adhere to any specific religion and I do not care what yours is or isn't. So please, feel free to make a fool of yourself by dissing mine. I'll still love you.

It depends on who they are, what exactly they're saying, etc, so every option except the last ...

  • Flippin-dillydogs

I chose the second option because, people have their own opinions. Let people be! You wouldn't want someone nagging you about your religon now, would you?

the option "I think they shouldn't diss what they don't understand" is kinda silly ... many people do understand and dis it cos they are actually against its view.

its hard to defend religion to some people ... for example, it can't be argued that the leadership of Christianity murdered almost 1 billion people in the name of forcing christian beliefs.

i think its only fair to let everyone have their own opinion and accept it without bitterness.

I don't have a religion, although I have strong views on it. Sometimes I think it's something I'm not allowed to talk about in case I break someone else's faith. Other times I think the opposite and that any religion should be strong enough to stand up to my questioning, or it's not worth following in the first place.

I do always hold back, though. If I set about it properly, I think I could turn anyone against religion. But why would I want to? It'd wouldn't make them any happier. And it wouldn't make me a good person, either.

Have no religion to dis. I don't care what other peoples religion is either as long as they don't shove it down my throat or try and convert me

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • The second option, "I think they shouldn't diss what they don't understand", isn't very accurate. You can understand something and still disagree with it.
I don't bother dissing other peoples religions unless its affecting me in some way. Like, if a Catholic told me to stop writing with my left hand and start writing with my right, I'd tell him to fuck himself.

What I meant was dissing it like telling you your religion is wrong and saying if there is a god, whoever your God may or may not be, then tell him to make you a pumpkin pie or something like that. They can disagree with me all they want to as long as they have proper facts to back it up
