How do you feel about our posts being performed as theatre?

Read the link at the very top of this page first, by the way, if you haven't already.

I'm not sure how it is going to work but, potentially, posts written by us (is it normal members) could be used as part of a live performance. My first feeling, and my remaining feeling, is that this is very exciting. I know it's unlikely that any of us will be quoted but some IINers will. And, if the group film this (as they have done with some previous performances) we'll be able to watch theatre produced directly from our very community. In a small way, it's almost a documentary about us.

I hope someone from is it normal attends (if only to report back, in case no footage is made available).

But anyway, how do you feel about it?

I think it is a really shit idea. Yes this website is anonymous and open to the public so potentially everybody in the world could read everything we write on here but for somebody to actually take mine or anybody elses words and then build up a joke around them and then take credit for said joke, well I really don't agree with that.

I would like to go see this, I don't live anywhere near New York though.

I have all kinds of questions about this fascination!

Which posts are they going to use? Which characters will be featured? How will they announce/distinguish the characters? How accurate will their portrayal(s) be? How long will the show be? How much of it will be censored or considered audience appropriate? Will any of my posts or responses be used? Is it going to be funny and a big success? Will there be some kind of permalink here to the videos from the show? Will there be more shows in the future? Are they paying TheManagement royalties? What about our cut? Do we get some free gold membership or something if we get featured? Lol. The list goes on!

  We had exactly the same thought process and those were the questions that crossed my mind too. I wondered if TheManagement would post on this story, although maybe he doesn't have the answers either and the group will just decide what they want to use. Maybe they'll pick comments from the day of the show so as to be topical.
  
  Just struck me, what if they're reading the site right now and see this? How odd would it be if they read me talking about them talking about us?

I just hope that they will be respectful and tasteful. Quite frankly the trailer was not amusing, funny or interesting and i am sick to death of these post college, transplants turning other peoples idea's into art.

I'm actually very excited about this. I highly doubt I'll be quoted on anything (one can hope, right?) but it'll be very entertaining - if it's made accessible - to hear what my friends have commented come to life! :D I think it's important for the actors to capture our individual personalities though. I hope it goes well! :D

I feel a little weird about it. I kind of think that IIN should be kept a small community. I worry if it got a lot of publicity that all of these people will flock to the site and possibly ruin it. Maybe, I'm just being paranoid. The problem I have with it the most is whether or not our usernames and whatnot will be mentioned. Are they going to use material from newer posts or older ones? Another thing, I'm iffy about is if they will use material from more "personal posts". I know there are a lot of users, including myself, who may be very uncomfortable with their "personal issues" being publicly used.

I'd love so much to see it, even if we're only a small part of it. If I was close enough I'd definitely go, but unfortunately I'm over 3000 miles away. I hope someone from IIN goes too, as a sort of ambassador for us. Even if only a few minutes of the show ends up being about IIN, it would be very very cool and exciting to see it.

  Same as me. I don't need any of it to involve me at all but I'd be thrilled if I recognised any of it and knew who'd said any part of it. Maybe they'll use that bit where ItDuz got all gangsta. I'd pee my pants to hear someone with a New York accent recite that. I would literally pee my pants.

It is pretty cool. Hmm, I don't know, though. First reading it, I felt iffy about it, and I still do. I have a feeling I will either dislike it very much or really like it. I hope they do something good with it and that we get to see it. If they do it right, I think I will actually really love it. I really hope that's the case!

  You should go see it! With as much time and dedication that you've put into this site, and the limited time you have left (yes I remember, lol), you owe it to yourself to go see if it's any good! If it's not good you don't even have to stay there. The IIN community NEEDS you to go see this :P
