How do you feel about children's beauty contests
They are still going on. People are still forcing their kids to parade around in front of complete strangers, who then tell them whether or not they're worthy.

I don't like them either.
It's one thing if you've got a little girl who just likes playing in her Mom's clothes and make-up. I think that's very normal actually.
I hate these beauty pageants though. It's just the mothers living vicariously through their daughters and teaching them to be fake and bitchy
I definitely have a problem with pageants for small children if the parents are pressuring them to participate in the pageant, but not so much if it's the child who wants to pursue that sort of thing. I do think that the way the little girls are expected to present themselves in pageants is oftentimes too mature and inappropriate. I'm also not a fan if the "Go Go juice" as Mama June and Honey Boo Boo referred to the concoction she used to drink.
I think at such a young age it would be better to be involved in sports and the arts rather than pageants. Again it should be up to the child's choice, and not the parents'. I do think lots of parents try to live out their dreams vicariously through their children, and that that is wrong!
I also think it's dangerous to expose such young children to a hobby that teaches them that perhaps their most important trait is their physical beauty. A person could be drop dead gorgeous get into a terrible accident, and be disfigured for life so it's important for people to understand that physical beauty is fleeting and not everything there is to life.
She would also give Honey Boo Boo handfuls of pixie sticks. Do you know what Mama June's response to the Go Go juice thing "Well at least I'm not giving her alcohol." Who even thinks that?
Yes. Well, Go go juice isn't the worst of it. I didn't watch that Toddlers and Tiaras Show or the Honey Boo Boo show, I didn't even know who Honey Boo Boo was until a few months ago. But the things that happened on that show made it to the internet. A lot of the moms were spray tanning there kids, one kid clearly stated she didn't want to do it but was forced.
During an interview with a former child model turned judge she said her mother forced her to use tanning beds, often three times a week, and the amount of hairspray they used would often cause her face to turn numb.
One mom was waxing her kids eyebrows. And one mom...oh this on pisses me of like you wouldn't believe. One mom was giving Botox treatments to her eight year old.
And they often dress their kids inappropriately. One mom dressed her kid up as a Hooters girl. One dressed her kid up as Julia Roberts from pretty woman. I really don't care about costumes though it's the swimsuits I think that's unnecessary.
Oh and the one mom who was waxing her kids eyebrows said that one time they actually ripped off the little girls flesh. But the mom still made her do it before every contest.
They are vile. I don't understand why anyone would subject their child to that.
It's funny how it's a "beauty contest" and they cover their child in pounds of makeup, fake tans, and fake teeth.
So your child is not beautiful without that stuff?
The parents that have their child go through all that are disgusting.
What's sad about it is parents living vicariously through their kids and making them do things they don't want to because they never did anything with their lives.
I don’t agree with them. Young children shouldn’t be forced to were makeup and provocative clothing.
But that’s just my opinion.
I think they are horrible for many reasons esp sexualizing children, making winning and appearances over important and I think they attract pedophiles.
It is so very creepy. Like seriously who are theses people? Like what happened in someone's life to wind up as an organizer or judge in a child beauty pageant? Oxymoronic. Television shows and movies are only keeping around something that should have gone away 100 years ago or never existed in the first place.
If a parent must fulfill some emptiness by forcing tbeur child to do something let it atleast be practical and benefit them throughout their life like education, sports, or learning to play a musical instrument.
Children are like hot girls minus the "hot" aspect and the "girl" aspect if they're boys
