I've often wondered how many people decide whether something is normal or not. Just a poll to understand how you qualify something as normal.

Good question...if something is very common I would say it's normal. I think 'normal' can also mean socially acceptable. I've seen a lot of posts on this site that are a bit odd, but whether or not it's acceptable depends on one's reasons for doing a certain thing or thinking a certain way. Also whether or not it's harmful to one's self or others. Hope this made sense. Sorry if it didn't, I'm getting kinda sleepy haha
I judge it on conformity really, but I admit that the notion of normal is highly subjective and individualistic.
I like to observe people, and when someone asks me if it's normal, I just review their behavior and see if I've observed it in people before.
