I give free advice on social networks online.
I actually enjoy doing it, even without the thanks.
Although it doesn't help to pay the bills sadly.

I did not think that would count.

I should have been more specific.
I fully repair ANY computer issue (obviously not hardware - but advice still provided) online.

Lets say your Windows Operating System is corrupted and won't start properly.
Or you have any type of malware on your computer and unsure howto clean it.
Or you require assistance with a specific program or even a single file.

Whatever it is, I have saved many (I'd say around 40,000 support posts online) users from spending money and having their computer serviced (usually wiped) at their local computer service store.

I have 'given' a large amount of my time over many years. Become Moderator at computer technical forums, and helped them out with my 'contributions'!

But if that doesn't count, then it was all in vein. Maybe I hurt others by helping them? Oh well, anyway I don't do this 'contributing' online anymore, but I still keep up with current issues.

My bad, FREE support is a thing of the past anyway, these days its just spam spam spam.

    RANT:
I used to volunteer at this animal shelter. I was all happy and such bevuase I absolutleY LOOOOVE animals sooooo much! Well i went to the orientation, got a metor and followed the procedures. I have been volunteering for about 3 months with no one complaining. I was doing all the things right today, (like cleaning the cages, putting newspaper in and bedding) when I got asked two times if I was cleaning or playing with the cats. Well obviously I was cleaning the cages but the lady who asked me said to stop becuase she was doing that row of cages. So then I put the cats back and went to the other row on the other side with no complaints. I had already cleaned some of the cages on the side she told me to go to so I started on one of the dirty middle cages. I was doing fine until this guy ( I think he was a worker) came up to me and asked, " Are you cleaning the cages or playing with the cats?" i said cleaning, and then he asked me if I wiped down the cage. I said yes because I did, and then he said "then why is there litter in the cage." in a really rude way. Really there was only a couple pieces of those tiny pebbles from the litter box in a corner I couldnt reach. Then he said in a really rude way like I was dumb or so,ething "okay you acually have to use a ladder, and wipe the cage down using a sponge. Also dont work on the middle cages and start with the first row! We dont want someone going all around cleaning random cages and not knowing which one was cleaned or not. And dont take the kittens out you have to ask the front desk."
NUMBER 1: Excuse me? Do not talk to me like im an idiot. i may be younger than you but I am a person not an idiot.
NUMBER 2: I was NOT taking the kittens out to play, i was taking them out and putting them in a crate RIGHT AWAY to clean their filthy cages. Let me tell you those things stank. Also ALL of the other volunteers had taken out the kittens without asking to clean the cages. Same scenerio here, only I was younger than most of them.
NUMBER 3: I think I know what i am doing, because all the nice volunteers smiled at me and never told me I was doing anything wrong. I also had a friend and a mentor to tell me what to do. I am not that stupid to where I would just forget everything like where the bedding was, or where the food was. I had been working there long enough to know all that. And let me tell you, cleaning cages IS NOT THAT DIFFICUT!!!!!
So i just say okay then he walks away, so I brush away the litter and continue cleaning. After I was done that lady who told me to stop cleaning told a volunteer there that the whole other side of cages that I JUST CLEANED needed to all be cleaned. She said extra loud so I could hear, ALLLLLLL OF THAT SIDE. The volunteer sighed, and im thinking, seriously? I just cleaned 3 of those cages! I did everything proper, and I can even name the things you have to do!! So I left that room because I felt really bad. Then I was told to clean this really big cats cage. I put bedding, newspaper in it and filled the water dish and got them a new litterbox. Suddenly the guy comes back and says, "dont give that cat food if youre not cleaning the cage so we know his cage isnt done. Also DO.NOT take the kittens out because somebody left the cage lock half locked and the kittens were running everywhere." okay, for one thing KITTENS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO OPEN A CAGE IF THE LOCK IS EVEN HALF LOCKED! EVEN IF THEY DID, I CLEANED THE TOP ROW AND THE KITTENS WERE SKIDDISH AND STAYED AT TH BACK OF THE CAGE! THERE IS NO WAY THE CATS COULD HAVE REACHED AROUND THE WIRE BARS, UNSCREWED THE LOCK AND JUMPED 7 FEET ON THE GROUND. So after he told me that, I put the food dish back without any food because he said so. Also because i read on the cat food bin, Volunteers, do not feed the cats unless told to do so. Well I was told not, so I left it. Pretty soon i hear from one of the vonlunteers, "that girl didnt feed this cat." soo the guy comes back and said, " why didnt you feed that cat." i said " because you said not to." He said "Who did? I did? No i did not. I said if your not cleaning the cage dont put food in the dish." WELL YOU COULD HAVE MADE THAT CLEARER! and i was cleaning the cage, couldnt he see that? I was sick of their stupid attitudes (i heard the guy saying, "keep an eye on her" like I was some criminal, and saying "she did this wrong" or "shes not even doing this right." so i just simply walked out of there and stayed outside because obviously i wasnt needed. I am never going back. Ever.

I've volunteered before, but most of the time it wasn't so much cause I wanted to but because it looked good on my college application.

I'm always contributing somehow. Lately, I've been volunteering at animal shelters on weekends when I don't have work.

I'm determined to start volunteering in the summer, maybe in a charity shop or something like that, but I can't say I do a thing right now. The fact that I can't say I do a thing right now is one reason I want to start doing something. I preach a lot about helping other people less fortunate, but I don't do it myself. It's hypocritical so I want to change that about myself.

My place of work gives us two paid days per year where we can work for the community - my last community activity was helping out at a school gala. I feel extremely proud to work for a company that supports our community. Thanks to them I have taken up more of these community activities in my own time.

Most people where I live would just use my money to fuck up the world even more or fill their own pockets.
I would only give if I could supervise the operation myself to ensure that it's put to good use.

@XxArcheryrulesXx omg what the heck?! Thats dumb. I mean your devoting your weekend to go to the shelter while you could be doing other things! Next time you go there, say "hey idiot, im doing you guys a fvor by helping you out. Well if your not going to appreciate it might as well never come back here again and find some other place, because you guys are ungrateful and retards.

Religious and other third party, such as Salvation Army, etc. Sometimes I donate money, sometimes I donate time, or old clothes... it really depends, although I am not heavy on monetary donations because of my belief that if wealth is going to circulate downwards to those who need it the most, it should not do so from the low to the lower, but from people who can afford to part with the money and not have to worry about how they will pay their own bills, which is not where I am in life. I'm lower income myself, and I don't see it as my responsibility to spare my own money for lower classes when I barely have enough money to spare on food.

Other than that, I used to donate blood until I once became severely dizzy and disoriented after a donation and took 20 minutes to get to my car, which was across the drive thru. I've been very reluctant to ever since.

I used to have a deal where I contributed a lump sum and chose ten charities to share it among. For some reason, they shut up shop, and I've been a bit slow at finding an alternative. So, at the moment, I do little or nothing for charity. The last thing I was involved in was the Movember thing six months ago.
