How do you take the high road when someone has started completely idiotic beef with you?

Normally I'd probably fight or yell at people for doing what they did but in this situation I sort of HAVE to behave, plus I think it would be better to anyway because it would confuse the shit outta these people if I don't bicker back with them.

I need tips on things to do and say when there's another tense moment (it's my neighbor so it's inevitable). I want to stun them with such an unexpected response. I need some razor-sharp ideas! Please help!

    What you do is take the road that is higher in elevation compared to the road that is running parallel.

    Normally I'll just ignore them as they're not worth my time. However, if someone has really left me miffed, I'll take a little time to think of something that has duality of meaning and is laced with an appropriate insult. If they don't notice the insult, I'm pleased because I got a free shot at them. If they do notice the insult but don't know whether I meant it I'm pleased it's bothering them. And, finally, if they're sure it's an insult and want to call me out on it, I've got two meanings I can fall back on, depending on the situation.

    It's very much part of my culture and our sense of humour so it usually comes quite easy. The beauty of it for me is that you can temper both the level of the insult and its obviousness to get whatever effect you want.

    A very simple one, for example:

    "I am sorry you've become involved in this".

    Sounds like an apology to a person, but the hell it is. When you examine the words analytically, what you're actually saying is "I find sorrow that I (or perhaps anyone) has to deal with someone like you". It's an insult about their personality and an expression of regret that their personality has been inflicted on you. String a few of these together and you can really go to town on someone whilst also appearing to take the high road.

    I get kind of a sense of satisfaction when I know that they hate me for absolutely no reason, or that their issue with me is purely one of their fabrication. People expect certain reactions to their behavior, which is part of the reason why they behave that way. If you're respectful to them (which will be the opposite of what they are looking for) and treat them like normal human beings, they won't know what to think.

    Leave a phat steamy poop on the hood of their car.
    It will confuse the shit out of them literally. We could video tape it and put it all over the Internet, they would be embarrassed and have no idea it was you.
    Or you could take the chimney topper off of the chimney and take a poop down there chimney. It would hilar! If they started a fire it would stink up the whole neighborhood!

      thats not exactly the high road. take it from someone who plays pranks on people. they will play a prank on you and then you'll try to get back at them. its like a endless circle that doesn't end. you should just ignore them and play it cool. if it gets really bad report it to the authorities.

    Be extra nice to them, they won't expect it and will assume it's a trap. The more sincere you can be may drive them crazy as they try to find the catch.
