How do i play things with a new guy?

I met a guy a few days ago and I like him a lot. We met in a club, he came back to mine. We kissed and felt each other a bit. Then we just talked all night and we have so much in common. When he left he asked for my number.
The thing is, I haven't dated anyone in a long time and I don't know what to do. I really don't want to mess this up. Should I risk being too forward and ask if he would like to see me again? Or do I just wait, even though I don't know for sure if he likes me, for him to contact me first?
I'm sorry if this all sounds pathetic.

    Well, what if he thinks the same way? What if he likes you back, and doesn't dare to call you because he'd seem too forward? Then no one would make the first move, even though you both like each other.

    Contact him and see what happens. You've got nothing to lose, and a lot to gain.

    He did ask for your number. I think that's usually a clear sign. But if he doesn't call in a few days, then by all means, go for it. Someone has to make the first move.

    If you contact him and he doesn't get back with you then damn. Move on... you'll find someone better.

    It's better to not have the what if factor stress you out. You don't want to be stressing like this in a relationship either.

    It doesn't really matter, so long as someone calls. The only way to make sure someone calls is to call yourself. So I think you should do that :)

      Not all women have this mind; "most women". Also I know quite a few guys who think this way.

      It's mostly people who've had bad past experiences in relationships or who are just rather insecure and have low self esteem. Not just women.
