How do i handle partial deafness?

I am deaf on my left ear. I am like any other when I am inside a room. But, I find it difficult when there are noises around.

When someone talks from the my left side, I ask them to repeat.

I feel depressed. At times i ask them many times and finally act as if i understood. I dont want to reveal them, I am deaf and tell them I am inferior.

May be i have to change my attitude towards the problem. Need your opinion.

Thanks!

    • Yes true. I do fine as well. But, I am 27 and avoid any party as I can't hear them properly with music and I am scared about my.

Otherwise, I feel lot better with the above comments!

Wow, if you had my condition, you'd go even more crazy. I'd just feel fortunate I didn't lose both ears or had a more serious condition if I were you. I would also try therapy a bit as talking would probably help you.

You're not inferior and anyone who makes you feel that way isn't worth knowing anyway. Just be honest and tell them what's up and ask them to speak towards your right ear. People will understand and work with your issue. It's not as big a deal to the rest of the world as it is to you.
