How do i get white teeth?

I have yellow teeth, despite plenty of brushing. It bothers me to see so many people with white teeth. I've tried whitening toothpaste and whitening strips and mouth rinse. None of it works. Has anyone gotten their teeth remarkably whiter and if so how? Does having the dentist whiten them actually work? Are there any cheaper methods? Thanks.

Go to a dentist. Teeth whitening. They do that. Or just ask a dentist.

Here on iin, you'll just get a load of comments suggesting cum, or other nonsense.

I'm not sure but I think the dentist can. All my friends with ridiculously white teeth used the whitening strips tho.

    • Could you find out which brand / type? And how often they used them?

If you paint your face black your teeth will look whiter by comparison.

Peelu. Try that. There are also Herbs used in Ayurvedic medicine that are geared towards dental health. There is probably one that whitens the teeth.

most whitening strips use hydrogen peroxide as the main ingredient. so do whitening toothpastes, just not as much. its also an effective mouthwash, although it tastes horrible. try following up with some.

    • I have, doesn't help : (

  • I occasional mix baking soda in water and dip my tooth brush in it to brush. My teeth get noticeably whiter after a couple brushings. I also try to oil pull with extra virgin olive oil everyday. I have not used any kind of traditional tooth paste or fluoride for almost a year now. I have noticed my teeth are whiter and feel stronger and a lot less sensitive after I quit using fluoride products. Fluoride is actually bad for teeth and I don't understand why most dentists keep advocatingcits use. **blows large load**

brush more effectively. Use one of those toothbrushes with the stiff bristles in with the soft ones and 'polish' each tooth individually with small wiggles of the brush so that the bristles really get into each crack and crevas. It helps more effectively remove plaque and might help with stains. My dentist told me this back when I had braces and I still use the method. I mean if it can keep your teeth sparkling with braces it'll work even more effectively without them.

Though I don't know why you care so deeply about it as long as you're teeth don't look horrendus and rotting and you've got the plaque off, they're healthy and you'll be fine. No need to be obsessed with getting them sheet white because it's not really natural.

I brush my teeth day and night, I floss every day, and use crest whitening mouth wash. I also drink a glass of milk before bed and visit my dentist regularly. If nothing you've been doing has helped, ask your dentist for suggestions.

There are products you can buy as well. Glo brilliant teeth whitening device, but it's pretty expensive.

"Whitening" toothpaste doesn't actually bleach your teeth, it's supposed to remove stains. Since your natural tooth enamel colour is slightly yellow, your best bet would be having them professionally whitened. If you aren't willing to pay hundreds for something you'll need to have done at least once every year, the alternatives are white strips. Maybe they didn't work for you because you just didn't use the right type for you. Crest has a variety of white strips. Some are more effective than others. I recommend Crest 3D White Advanced Vivid.
You could also try oil pulling with coconut oil. It sounds crazy, but it does noticeably lighten teeth within about two weeks. I don't know why, but it does work, as well as being great for dental hygiene.

    • Tell me more about coconut oil. What exactly are you supposed to do?

Basically, you swish a spoonful of coconut oil around your mouth for up to 5 minutes, or as long as you can stand it, every morning before you brush your teeth or eat anything. If you want good results, you have to buy good quality oil. Organic, cold pressed and unrefined.
Generally, the longer you swish it around your mouth for, the better the results will be. There's no point in only doing it for 30 seconds. When you start off it will be difficult to keep it in your mouth for more than a minute. As long as you keep it in as long as possible and are actively moving the oil around your mouth, it will work.
Spit the oil into a bin. The spit should look cloudy and white - that means it pulled the toxins and bacteria from your mouth, gums and in between your teeth. Never spit it into the sink or toilet as it will harden and clog up the pipes.
If it's cold where you live and the oil is always hard in the container, you can either melt it in the microwave or just take the hard oil and keep it in your mouth until it turns soft. Whichever is easier for you.

Why do you have yellow teeth?

    • I don't know, maybe because now days other people get them to look white unnaturally?

      • loopoo

Yeah, they ruin it for natural people. Maybe use whitening toothpaste, another hint is to when you brush after you spit the remaining paste out, don't rinse, it continues to clean teeth.

A dentist, hovewer you must be aware that the colour of out teeth is defined by our genes and that some of us have been spoiled with white teeth and the less fortunate not so white ones. My teeth are not very white and I have tried all kind of solution but now I just make sure that I have a good breath. Genes always win in the long term :/

    • Teeth whitening is actually very damaging to the teeth and can cause permanent damage to the nerves. That's why your teeth feel ultra sensitive after using whitening strips or after getting your teeth bleached at the dentist.
