I meant it to be funny but in his defense he doesn't really know me and how I meant it and now he won't talk to me and I feel bad. it doesn't help that I like him and he's literally twice my age. ( don't worry, we're both legal. )
As e51pegasi says, it's pretty simple. Man up, approach the guy, tell him you're sorry for what you said, that it wasn't meant seriously, and admit that you were out of line.
If your apology is sincere, he should accept it.
If he doesn't, then he really is an asshole.
You shouldn't have to apoligize. Tell him to stop being a pussy about it.
Approach the person & say "I apologise for calling you an asshole" with a degree of sincerity.
The only thing you can do now is blow him and hope he forgives you.
Seriously, approach the guy, explain you were just kidding and flirt a little if you're so inclined. He'll forgive you and if he doesn't then he IS an asshole, and you were right to call him one 😂
