How can we create a world of peace?

I don't believe we can. There are too many people, too many dynamics to balance. You can do it in a small way, say a small tribe, but even then peace is temporary and must be managed.

It's difficult. Some people can't even find peace in a circle of one.

World Peace is absolutely impossible. There has never been an era of world peace and there never will. It's sad but true.

By reducing global population and eliminating divisions in society would go a long way to reducing wars.

hmm religion seems to cause a couple of issues in the world, wipe that one out? mostly only a common enemy like aliens would really help; it happens in third world countries all the time (no the aliens the common enemy thing)

You want a perfect world?! The word 'perfect' is not perfect enough. Everything is relative. You can't have a ultimate peacefull world.

Nothing, but the world can't sort itself out into a Utopia. I am mostly a pacifist, but I would still fight back if I really need to.

pacifist's are terrible people because they are simply people who let others shed blood in their stead. All animals are violent within their own capabilities so a pacifist is a distorted freak of nature created by a soft over liberal society.

It you have peaceful solutions to each war then by all means promote your peaceful solutions through twitter/marches/whatever. But don't brag about peace without a solution.

Wars have been going on since the begining of time. Wars will happen until the end of time.

I'm starting to think that world peace is a futile dream.

You can't force your will on other countries and call that peace. They need to sort themselves out. All you can really do is try to make your own country better.

America is a very war-like country that can't seem to help themselves from screwing with other countries we view as inferior.

The world will never be completely at peace. There will always be evil people doing evil things, because that's what it means to be human. The best we can do is try our best as good people to help the world as much as possible and stop these "evil" people. Sometimes this might mean responding to evil with non-peaceful means, but we can try our best to minimize that necessity.

Different methods are most appropriate for different cultures; it also depends on the reason for the war.

Ultimately, some wars are just and should be allowed to go ahead to alleviate suffering in the long term. In some scenarios, like Gandhi and the independence of India, peaceful protest is effective.

In others, the paradoxical approach is truly necessary (for example, the Yom Kippur War between Israel and Egypt in 1973 lead to peace between the two nations).

There is a situation for every method of ending war, the key is establishing which should be used for each individual conflict. In today's more complex world, it is unlikely that Gandhi's protests would be effective. It is also so that intervention in wars in recent times by foreign powers has a poor track record in establishing long-lasting peace (think of Iraq and Afghanistan as examples).

If I would suggest a single way of making there be peace, it is that there must be international consensus to do so. The U.N. needs more teeth; an organisation is a puppet of the US in all but name and in which China and Russia veto all steps toward ending wars can never be effective. Unfortunately, disbanding the U.N. or removing the veto could likely cause a split in the world powers and a potential Cold War II.

The one sure truth, in my mind, is that blind pacifism is not the way to go. It must be recognised that some wars are necessary. There can be no world peace if world peace is not a sensible ultimate goal. There must be war, if only to later establish peace. A "good force" should fight against an "evil force" to prevent its tyranny, and we cannot ensure there are no evil forces without a dictatorship to tell us what is good and what is evil, and force obedience.

Therefore, the only way to achieve total world peace, as far as I can see, is through dictatorship. But dictatorship itself is unpeaceful, so maybe there can be no total world peace. To achieve the more realistic goal of "nearly-world" peace, there needs to be a way of ensuring international consensus on solving crises to prevent minor skirmishes becoming fully-fledged wars.

All the violence in the world is caused by humans.... If we were gone then everything else would flourish and grow.... but no, we go ruin everything as always. Would it be worth taking your own life for the welfare of everything else..... I say yes, although only me doing it will change nothing
