How bad is popcorm?

I took your advice and have started buying popcorn from the supermarket instead of the cinema. It does taste good, just like movie popcorn actually, but how bad is it? I have been sampling quite a few different varieties.I get cravings for it, but these phases always pass. They're selling angle is: 'only 100 calories!' But I think its probably quite unhealthy.

Not as good as cock porn.

    But better than cop porn.

(in all seriousness, it depends on the popcorn. Check the ingredients. If there's a lot of salt, sugar, oil, butter, fat, it's not going to be great for you. If there isn't much of the aforementioned ingredients, then it's unlikely to be that bad for you. Why don't people just check the information on the packet?)

I've always been under the impression that plain popcorn was a really great diet food. If you don't put heaps of butter or caramel, etc. on it, I think it is a very low calorie, filling snack. Probably not a good thing for a meal, as I believe it has little nutritional value.

Let's see here. Its a manufactured 'food'. Its made from food engineers to sell product + have a long shelf life at the lowest cost. Don't believe the marketing. Packaging labels aren't exactly designed to tell you how bad something may be. You're better off making your own popcorn from scratch and adding real butter to it.

Case in point? Ever heard of Snackwells? Its junk engineered to appear healthy to people that only buy packaged food. Its still junk.

Overall, that stuff is unhealthy but in moderation, its likely not going to ruin you.

Go for the real unadulterated good food.

If your going for health, the best popcorn you can buy is the kind with absolutely nothing on it. However that kind is a bit bland. Unless you're willing to put your own stuff on it, I would get things that are lightly salted or something like that! Just because there is less calories in it, it does not automatically mean it's good for you.
Also read the serving size. The serving size can fuck you sideways if you don't read it.
