Housemate cranky

my housemate always seems to be cranky and it's really getting me down! the only time she seems to be in a good mood is when our OTHER housemate is around (they are closer with each other than with me), or when her guy friend (aka, our fourth housemate) is there and they're drinking. she has one-word responses to most of my questions, hardly ever asks ME how I'M doing, and ignores me when she's with her friends and i've asked her (pretty politely, i might add) to keep the noise down.

another thing that bugs me is i tend to share the food i cook with them when i have a big pot of it, and they don't do the same with me-- almost never. i know the point of sharing is to do it because you want to, not because you get something in return, but can you see how it makes me feel like i'm trying and they're not putting in the same effort?

with both my housemates, i have to initiate the conversation, or it doesn't happen. i feel like I'M always the one who has to be friendly, or they just won't talk to me. to tell the truth, it's not a great feeling to live with people like this. is this normal? being with my housemates who are in a bad mood a lot of the time is starting to get ME down.

do you think i should move out?

Don't give them anything or initiate conversations coz they're really not worth it and have no manners.

Move out and find happiness with some decent roomies.

Yeah, I've had experiences with people like that before. My advice is: f*ck 'em. If you don't like living there then move out.

The way you feel is completely normal and it seems like you may be better off moving out with other housemates or living on your own. You should have peace of mind when it comes to being at home.

roommates are roommates; you just have to live with them...don't have to be their friends. If its really bugging you then move out.
