This time, suppose your choice in dating is largely between two extremes, with no in-between: someone who brings you to orgasm JUST from looking at him/her but who's so self-absorbed you feel like you're working JUST to earn his/her attention, which is lukewarm at best; or someone who on your looks scale (0-10) measures around a 2--3 on a very good day--but who treats you like the most important person in the world, and who's also so smart she/he can discuss just about anything without coming across as a know-it-all.

In this fictional universe there's no "maybe something better will come along." Yes, you can opt to remain alone forever.

    I have to agree with MR.mr here.

    The girls I've dated have not been, shall we say, bombshells, and I knew it from the start, but it started from a conversation, on shared interests.

    OK, one of them it was purely sexual for the whole year, but that's beside the point.

    Appearance really is not the only contribution to sexual attraction, and that grows tired after a while. Shagging the brains out of a woman with a great mind is far more rewarding than out of a woman with a great face and who knows it.

    The hot but self centered one, because at least I might get to sleep with them a few times before they break up with me.

    It's male nature to value appearance over personality. If I liked a girl's personality but she was ugly, I would keep her as a friend. I wouldn't keep her in a position where she'd expect me to fuck her, because that's not something I would want to do if she was a 2/10 to me, which by my generous standards would have to be horror movie tier ugly.
