High school drop out?

Ok so heres the thing, I am going to be a junior in high school next month but I failed all of my classes in 9th and 10th grade, it was not because I am dumb...I actually have above normal intelligence, I know all of the material they teach. ( I was having personal conflict at home and had to deal with a lot of stress making it hard to focus on school work)

My question is- should I just drop out and get my G.E.D or try to make up all of those credits?

Not finishing school was the worst decision I made to date. I could blame my family for not providing for me, or my teachers for not teaching but at the end of the day I made the decision to not go. It has lead me to a life of addiction and crime just to sustain a halfway decent daily life. Im 21 and I always wonder what if I buckled down and finished. On the other hand you have people who do finish and never do shit with their lives anyway. My point is high school seperates the determined and motivated from the lazy and ignorant.

stay in school because after you drop out who says that something wont come up that prevents you from getting your GED. Finish school and then try and figure out your options

If you really have above normal intelligence, you will stay in school. You want money. You need college, man.

To be quite frank, the whole College standard that schools have been posting for years now is absolute bollochs. There are PLENTY of careers that can earn you more then the cost of living that don't even require college. I for one, dropped out of high school, got my GED, and then enlisted in the Marine Corps. I served 12 years, and lost my leg in Baghdad in 2005. Now, I live off of the money I get from them. Not going to give details, but its enough to support my wife and 2 kids, with money left over for vacations.

    But ya, STAY IN SCHOOL.

If you were above average, than you would know that.

If you're "above normal intelligence" then it was stupid of you to fail ALL those classes. High school is easy as shit, just apply yourself a TINY bit and you get by. Why would you wanna be one of those weak people that use "family conflict" as a crutch to fail in life because they're too lazy to do anything. Rise above man. Be something.

Normal intelligence doesn't mean squat. Look at how stupid normal people are. If you can't demonstrate proficiency of the dumbed-down, baby, candy-ass material that is demanded in high school, you will be flipping burgers to feed my fat face in the real world.
If, on the other hand, you are sure you can get a college degree, then go get one. No one, for the rest of your life, will ever care again about your G.E.D.
But don't be in any hurry. Competition for jobs is going to be rough for a few years, at least, and no one is going to care about your "stress," real or imagined.

I was in the exact same boat as you, and I went with the GED. I've always regretted not finishing school the traditional way. I'd suggest you make up the credits, but at the end of the day it really depends on what you want to do career-wise. Getting your GED doesn't mean you'll only be able to find work as a carnie, or a fry cook, and you can still go to college but it'll make your chances of finding great jobs a lot harder (especially if you choose not to go to college or a trade school).
