Hey all you girls...

I want to know how long your period lasts.
is it normal that mine usually last 3 days? I even had one time where it was 2 days. Its rare mine last for a full 5 days ... usually once or twice a year or something i will have one for a full 5 days.

I also dont get bloated, cramps, or mood swings.

So tell me is this normal?
I have yet to meet another women like me, and I would value any input.

Reminiscent~♡

Cervical mucous, discarded eggs, cramps, tension, bloating, bitchiness, iritability, weird cravings, homicidal thoughts, colorful wrappers and crying don't do it for ya?

2 day periods, sometimes 3 days.
Also no cramps, bloatiness or attitude on those days.

I usually get cramps and bleed for two-three days then I get no cramps and I barely bleed at all (Like all the blood for the last few days could fill a tampon half way.)

Well, mine usually lasts about 3-4 days. I only get mild cramps at best, and that's normally on the first day.
I don't really get bloated, or have mood swings.

Yes youre lucky! Most women are 4-5 days mine was always at least 7 days and sometimes twice a month but I have fucked up hormones. They were never very painful but annoying. But I take pills which let me skip my period all together.
My grandmother said hers was only 2 days.

Hmmm u should research this on the internet (as I did after your post)...even medications you take or a lack of certain nutrients could be factors causing this short period...but if you've always had a short one then it should be normal.

Mine lasts 5 days, the 2nd being heaviest and the last 2 are barely there. My 2nd day is hell. Cramping, bloating, bathroom stuff..., a -need- for peanut butter cups. I'm an incredibly moody from crying to bitching 1-2 days before my period. That's how I know it's going to start- I get irrational, which isn't usual for me.

I don't see how this could happen with so many women on the pill, because that's not even a period it's just a withdrawal bleed.

Certainly some all Lesbian households I've known where for obvious reasons no one was on the pill, ended up with synchronised periods after a while can't remember how long a while now,too long ago, as are my periods

It's pretty much just coincidental. With only so many days in a month, it's bound to sync up sometimes but eventually will unsync because of the variations in our rhythms.

I also read something a while ago about how most women used to cycle with the moon but not so much anymore due to all the artificial light. But some still do I'm sure, coincidentally. .

You have no idea how jealous I am :( hahaha

I should start by saying I have PCOS. So that explains a lot :/ and sorry in advance for what I'm sure will be a long ramble.

Mine are all over the shop. I consistently have really bad cramps, to the point of holding my breath, crying or at times curling into a ball and whimpering. Not as bad as poor cuntsicklestick though...I can't imagine that :/ I also get weird pains at what I assume is my ovulation time, but it's more like twinges, or something jumping in there.

They started at 11 and there was absolutely no consistency to my cycle EVER. I might have one for three days (rare), ten days, two weeks, who knows. It might be a week in between or months.

Longest period was about ten weeks. The bastard kept almost fading...stopping for a few hours then starting up again, just to catch me off guard. Longest time without was about eighteen months (I wasn't pregnant, I had not been sexually active).

I really don't think you want all the bloody details :/ it's fucking disgusting.

At their best (so far) I was taking a herbal product under the care of my naturopath. They were somewhat regular. Pain and bleeding were more manageable, too. But for whatever reason, they stopped working for me in...2012 I think? So I stopped taking them as they're expensive.

From this year, I took a monophasic birth control pill for five/six months. It was disgusting. I got cramps all the damn time, period or no, bled profusely while on the hormone tablets, through the placebo week and into the next hormone pills. I had one month (second last) when it was normal. The last month, I tried to extend the hormone pills...bled through the third week through fifth. Ended up having to take a triple dose of the pills for three days to make it stop as I was unable to enjoy my holiday and it was showing no signs of stopping. It worked for a week. Then I stopped taking them.

Now I'm on my first month of a triphasic. So far so good...but I guess i won't know for sure for a few months. My biggest problem atm is that it doesn't seem possible to skip a period on triphasic, because of the different levels in the pill. But I guess just one thing at a time.

About 5-8 days. No cramps, nausea or mood swings etc. just get a funny feeling around that area and like my tummy rubbed : ) So you're lucky, mine seem to go on for a long time, and then there's the heaviness...which is just ott sometimes. Have to out a towel down in my bed, and I have to change the sanitary towel often, plus I no longer like wearing the other type (tampons)...so that makes it worse. Sorry if too much info.

Menopausal at such a young age?! Something would have to be very wrong indeed for that too happen. This has actually been going on a for quite a few years now. The two week thing is only recent. It started, I think, after I got back from a trip to Europe. I was very unwell in Europe. When I got back, I was so unwell from food allergies, that I could barely eat anything and my ED roared back into my life. I remember once not having my period for 10 weeks. No was willing to believe me. I can't remember ever seeing a doctor about it. Then again, I did see a neurologist for a brain scan. Irregular periods is one of the symptoms of a brain tumor and I had so many of the other symptoms that I figured that was what it was. It wasn't.

I eat on average, quite a lot but, I barely gain any weight. If my irregularities are weight related, I can't do anything about that. Honestly, not having to deal with my period for so long is a relief.

I just had a period. It started last Wednesday and ended either Sunday or very early in the morning Monday. It wasn't as heavy as I was expecting.

Sorry I don't know your age, but there is such a thing as early menopause and also other hormonal irregularities which can affect your periods. Doctors can do hormone level tests.

I'm glad your recent period wasn't a hassle - who knows, maybe you're through the worst of them - I hope so

So that's how yr medical system still works? I assume you're in the US? That sucks ..

Have you tried orgasms? Sounds weird maybe but it used to work for me. Probably by yourself is best unless you have a very open minded lover.

I also used to pinch a pressure point just above the heel and sometimes that would ease the cramps.

Yep it's the US. A place where every broke neighbor on my block and their mom can get free healthcare from the government except me. lol
Anyway, the orgasm trick rarely works for me, and I never heard of the pressure point trick in the heel. I might just look that pressure point trick up and try it. Thank you. :)

Maybe your country needs a REAL "socialised" health care system like ours in Australia?

It's not perfect, far from it, but everyone is covered. Wealthier people take out private health cover as well as having access to the general system if they choose to, and can get better service, which I think sucks. I haven't been following what sort of health system Obamacare ended up being, although I did follow the debates about it to some extent, finding the anti arguments unbelievable. They seemed similar to arguments here against including dental care in the medical system because it will lead to people "rorting the system" - yeah, right, people are gonna go to the dentist for fun! I actually heard this most recently from a dentist and I couldn't respond until I stopped laughing.

I don't think so highly of the UK system where it seems people are stuck with whatever doctor is allocated to them and have difficulty changing doctors, that's not the case here.

Sorry, I sidetracked myself there, to get back to your issue, the way I used the pressure point was to pinch with 2 fingers just above the heel bone, you can feel a sort of little cave there .... you can see I'm an expert on medical terms! I think it was pinch for 5 seconds, release for 5, pinch again, can't remember for how long, but I do remember that I used to be able to feel my uterus sort of unclench and relax the more I pinched. I do hope this helps you and any other women reading this.

Anyway, good luck with the menstrual problems: I'm over them by about 20 years but still remember my teenage years being marred by 2 week heavy periods - yuk! I didn't know I was a feminist then, and got quite peeved off with doctors telling me my periods would settle down after I "got married and had a baby" - guess what, the buggers were right, but I wouldn't recommend it as a cure for menstrual issues!
