Here's a thought...

What if the world was upside down? What if landmass and populations of people were more prolific in the southern hemisphere instead of the northern? How would our lives be different? Would western civilization look different? How would this affect our views of holidays in general?

You have too much time on your hands.

What if we had udders instead of nipples?

    • If we had udders, we probably wouldn't be standing on two legs and bras would be designed differently..

Oh yes :) but if we had udders while we were still human maybe that would affect the layout of our internal organs?

I guess we'd either be starving to death or working in sweatshops and mines to support the African lifestyle. Our governments would be openly corrupt. Sometimes an African or South American army would invade and bomb us and then give us a different corrupt government. Bombings and massacres would happen every day in our streets and nobody would give a sh*t. We'd export all our resources to southern countries and then they'd sell what they didn't need back to us with their logo on it. We'd probably have way more kids, way more deaths and for some reason a lower suicide rate.

But I don't get the holiday question.

What do holidays have to do with anything?

I think we would just have to be slightly better equipped to handle the warmer climates. I don't see where you are going with this.

    • Many holidays are based on seasons. Early Christians chose to celebrate their big holidays around the Pagan holidays for fear of persecution. If the world was flipped, would they have chosen different dates for celebrations? Christmas in July would literally be in July…no, June. Or would they just switch the months around to match the season, not the calendar. And would the calendar look the same? Maybe February would not have been cheated a few days to give an ego boost to Julius and Augustus because.

Climate would be the same. Assuming you were the same latitude and the land to water ratio remained the same, just reverse the north to south.
