Her personality has changed iin?

Iv been dating my girlfriend for 6 months without any problems. She don't get along well with her parents .Two weeks ago she was kicked out so I invited her to come live with me. her personality has changed dramaticly ,normally she's very independent and strong willed. after she moved in with me she's become very clingy to the point that she's almost like a different person . would you consider this normal considering the situation?

I would think it's normal. Her life has been turned upside down. She lost her family and her home so I understand her desperation to hold on to the one good thing she does have!

People aren't black and white personality wise. We change our whole lives, we react to situations differently than may be our normal behavior. Or sometimes our behavior is a front hiding our true selves. You just have to deal with it and adapt cause no matter who you're with it's gonna happen.

Bigtoy, I would normally have agreed with you, but my wife was basically kicked out of her house when we decided to move in together because her parents thought I just wanted to get into her pants. I was 23 she was 19 at the time. We're married now and the relationship with her parents is fine now, but it was strained for a while.

And to the OP, give her some time, Randomjelly is probably on the right path with his thoughts. At the same time, my wife has changed a lot in the years we've been married, so it's hard to say.

    I agree with randomjelly.

Your girlfriend needs you right now. She's going through a rough time with her parents, and it clearly shows with her clinginess. Its normal that shes acting the way shes acting.

She doesn't sound very well adjusted if she got kicked out by her parents. Strong willed people are often that way because they are insecure which her clingyiness typifies at this moment. Best of luck.

  • agreed, it don't bother me in anyway .I do feel like I'm selfish, in a way I'm glad it happened because we have grown much closer but I hate seeing her depressed :(
