Help with depression?

Is it normal to be depressed?

I have loads of friends and everything
I'm not stupid
But I've been depressed since....like....when I was 5? Or as far back as I can remember:/

Any ideas of how to get out of depression?

I've spent time, working out, reading, masterbating, listening to music, watching motivational videos (SO MANY) I'm not suicidal at the moment but I'm just really depressed

Maybe do something exciting to bring a little bit of joy / excitement / adrenaline in your life! Maybe you're just missing action!
Go travelling with your friends and go skydiving?
And I agree with Avant-Garde, take up a hobby that gets you busy so you don't have time to get bored and think you're sad! :) And gradually your depression is gonna disappear, we hope :)
and uhm i dont know... learn a language by yourself so you're busy and not able to think of depression?

I'd stop watching to these videos too. THey only remember you that you think you're depressed and I once was told by an expert that a very high percentage of motivational videos and books are fake and give bad suggestions. He said they should be all banned.

I have battled depression for 9 years, it really sucks and I want my motivated life back. I have many blessings in life, but my depression is due to a chemical imbalance in my brain. I hate it when people tell me I have it' so good and I shouldn't be depressed, when in reality, it's an ill-informed response to someone who is truly hurting.

Why are you depressed? Answer that question. It doesn't need to be 'logical', it doesn't need to follow someone elses rules and it doesn't need to be nice.
You can have a million strategies to cope with depression, including a therapist and medication, but the only way to solve it is to solve the problem causing it. If this is impossible (and sometimes it can be), then you need to reconfigure your coping strategies to account for that.

I have no idea. I've had on and off depression for most of my life and I've become so used to it that I have very little desire to change. Therapy might help, but don't take their medications! Sometimes, people get therapists that are incompatible with them so they don't get the help they need... Maybe, you could take up a hobby?
