Help me sleep!?

when im in bed waiting to sleep.. i cant..sleep...to many thoughts in my head!

i think about my life and everything in it! its bad cause i can never get to sleep for a while..:(

help!! what can i do?

    Sometimes people do this or told...no caffeine after 1 PM if so go take a walk to burn it off or exercise so you get tired, yoga, meditation , daydream , take deep breath , I like to breath in for 5 seconds hold for 5 seconds breath out for 5

    Years ago I found my solution to this problem. I make up a story in my head, like a daydream or something. Anything from a date with my dream man to a day on vacation. Focusing on one thought cleans the clutter out of your head and you'll eventually sleep.

    It is normal. If you can, try to use the bedroom only for sleeping/bed related activities. Don't have a T.V. in your room, and try to only read boring things in bed.
    Don't drink sugary/caffeinated drinks after 1pm that day (sorry, I would stay away from the hot chocolate), and people suggest eating dinner 2 hrs before bed (but I can sleep on a full stomach though).
    Again, if you have a project/studying/thinking to do- keep it in the living room/library.
    It might help to write your thoughts down in a journal (also away from the bedroom). Keep the lights in your bedroom low all the time (a lamp or something works). I’ve also found that exercising after work (around 4-6pm) helps me wind down for the day and clear my head of any anxiety.

    I say it's not normal,because normal people can sleep fine except for when something is wrong or they are stressed.
    I have chronic trouble sleeping too,so I know how you feel.You may have a sleeping disorder.

    Have you tried taking melatonin? I find that it helps.

    I used to do that, or imagine how my life could be different. For a start you are properly not sleepy enough when you first go to bed so make sure you are actually tired before you go to bed. If anything is stressing you then think about it before you go to bed, no1 likes to go to bed with worries! Try having a hot bath or/and hot drink before bed, nothing better :)

    Drink Horlicks! I can't even get through a whole mug! Make half or you'll end up in the morning with a mugful left over. It completely knocks you out!

    i have the exact same problem.. i cant get myself to sleep no matter what i do. i smoke weed, still wont put me to sleep .its 2:16 am right now and ive got work at 9 tommorow and i just cant fall asleep. even if i try to ill just end up lieing in bed with y eyes awake for hours. :( if u find something that helps let me know !

    Yeah same here, it took me 4hours till I finally got tired and fell asleep. I guess for me: meditating helped because it only focuses on your mind and so when you meditate you would clear your mind of every thought you have and just focus and a certain place or thing.
    Sorry for sounding all hippy like, trust me I ain't no hippy:)

    I have the same problem. Racing thoughts, thinking about mundane things= cant sleep. To be 100%% honest, the only thing that has every helped me has be marijuana. it is a bit unconventional (and illegal), but it really helps. If you live in a state that allows medical marijuana talk to your doctor.
