Head lice -what is the best thing to do to get rid of head lice?

I have had head lice for over 3 weeks now. I gave treatment to myself and my daughter 3x. she is clean and in the clear. How ever I still have it.
she is in pre k so she got it form someone at her school. I have notified her school already two weeks ago.
My child still to this day is lice free after I treated her.
How ever myself....I see live eggs on top of my head and now have given myself treatment 5x and another this morning.
I cleaned my entire apartment, changed the sheets, vacuumed, dusted, cleaned all our clothes, bed sheets, pillow cases and replaced everything. I even threw away my old hair brushes and bought new ones. I used the new ones a few times but after discovering I have live still I put my new brushes in boiling hot water to get any lice off them. This did work for my hair brushes.
I have been using over the counter Ridx for killing head lice for over 3 weeks now.
Why do i still have them?

Over the counter head lice treatment 5
private lice clinic which makes house calls, charges $100/hr 3
Go to the doctor to get treatment 22
Keep using over the counter medication even though lice is there still 3
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Shave the left side of your head. Set the right side of you head on fire. When those fuckers run out, stab 'em with an icepick.

Okay, I vote go to a doctor since the OTC stuff isn't working. Unless it would be cheaper / easier for you to go with the private clinic. I don't know your circumstances.

Honestly, why are you coming on this random website with a genuine medical issue? This is full of spotty teenagers with masturbation problems, not doctors waiting to diagnose your conditions. Seriously, go to the doctor.

So I used an over the counter treatment, olive oil, tea tree shampoo, this oil stuff for my hair and body, then blew dry my hair on burning hot, then hot ironed my entire head on fire with a hair straightener. then brushed all the dead flea bags out of my head for hours ....no joke from 8pm till 2am in the morning. My arms and hands were so sore.
My brother walked in on me 2am surprised I was still up, brushing the lice out my head. I straightened my hair every day. It made my hair too dry but it killed all the lice.
I did the same to my daughter, and brushed them all out of her head too. 1 month of doing this, we no longer have the lice issue. They are gone.
Also I just transferred my daughter to a private school where they are super clean, organized and have school uniform.
We also moved to a new house. Our own little duplex house. She has her own bedroom for the first time ever. yeehaw!
Of course she still has to sleep next to mommy(me) every night ! lol

Shave your head bald. No, but seriously - tea tree oil! Apparently they hate the smell of it. Perhaps do a treatment and use a very fine comb, then put tea tree oil on your scalp to discourage them back and/or to discourage any hangers on. Seems unfair you still have them even though you've been so thorough! Good luck. Embrace the power of essential oils.

I dont understand this. I got lice before and I took some shampoo and it went away in 3 days. I also had a very severe case of it. Most people just buy over the counter shampoo. A doctor visit is not necessary. Most people can just look in your head and see if you have it. Certified nurse or not. You can tell if you are really looking for them. Though sometimes dandruff looks like lice.

Tea Tree oil might work. I know it is effective in killing ticks.

If a natural remedy doesn't work (Though, I don't really see why it wouldn't), go see a doctor.
