Head-injured man with woman with cerebral palsy -- what would you do??

Hiya,

I've a friend who might be getting to be more than that. We're both disabled, me with severe cerebral palsy, him with a head-injury. We both live in the same care home (a very good one), both like folk music & have the same filthy sense of humour, & he's gorgeous.

I've been warned away from him because it can make him aggressive but he's helped with things I can't do for myself (I can't lean over, reach far, scratch my back, etc) & vice-versa (he can't speak that well so I get him to speak slowly or sign then I translate), cheered me up & calmed me down when somebody was shouting because I'm afraid of sudden noise., & our faces light up when we see each other. We've both improved drastically, him with his posture, speech etc. me with my moods & anxiety.

He's reassured me he'll be OK with me & wouldn't kick off in front of me but I was warned off socialising with somebody else for similar reasons & the warnings were justified. I have no learning difficulties. What would you do in my situation??

Go for it. This sounds like the beginning of a wonderful relationship.

Just be watchful and cautious is all. Enjoy your friendship.

I'd go for it. Most people don't even have that much of a chance at happiness. Take the risk. It is not like he would hurt you on purpose.
