Having dreams about people getting tortured, is it normal?

I had this dream and it was like a horror movie that I've never seen before. It was about people getting taken away to be put in this "torture chamber", or what I would describe hell. Basically people were tortured in ways like sticking a knife in their tongue, being burned with fire, having to eat human flesh, BUT it was only for an hour or so, and after that hour they could choose to escape.

If they chose the wrong path they would again enter the torture chamber and the torture would be slightly worse, if they chose the right path they would still enter the torture chamber but the torture would be slightly less painful. For example, I mentioned about eating human flesh, well if you chose the right path after that you would eat raw dog flesh instead, but if you chose the wrong path you would eat something more inhumane. Keep choosing the right path and the torture will become slightly less and less until you eventually get out, choose the wrong path and you are doomed.

It was very gruesome. I was just watching people getting tortured to death until this girl came in that barely survived choosing the right path. Anyway, less about the movie details, what does it mean? I've had dreams about another horror-like movie and it was about people getting tortured. And don't say I'm mentally-disturbed. I like horror movies like Saw and Hostel, but I didn't particuarly enjoy these dreams.

    You should write these dreams out and make horror films, then you'd get money for dreaming :)

      Oh yes true you really should I think most horror movielists have nigthmares like this asswell . I use to get frequent nightmares as a child .

      maybe you have a strong tedincly torse violent , aswell as pent up hate and rage which is driving you mad . In your subcotiues you have alot of pent up sexuel as well as angry frustration with poeple or with life . This would resualt in your mind mixing all these thoughts to something morbid and disgusting . Poeple like this are often viewed as disturbed but I do think it is common . It is proboly you are repressing something not nescarrly that you are doing this on purpose but you have some very deep thoughts that are bothering you . Maybe your mind is trying to let them out and doesnt know how so this hostility is building up and inventing diffrent intresting ways to deal with it in your mind ? aswell as hostility I think this would trademark creativuty aswell as an intense fear . Creativity , hostility, Fear poeple with these quilitys very inhanced tend to have these kind of issues . This is just an observation so I dont know how true this is .

    Sounds like a movie I saw, wasn't it saw 4??? Where the whole point of the game was for them all to stick together and try to help save each other? Maybe its a sign that you need to start making some right choices. And maybe, eventually you will be in a place that is safe. Sometimes its a slew of wrong choices that get us into the messes we are in, and it will take many right choices to get us back out!!
