Have you ever sampled dog or cat food or treats?

I don't know about everyone else but there's been a few times when it's been downright irresistible to sample it. Sometimes it's a new brand of treats, and by God it looks like a Slim Jim, smells pretty damn good, so I have to taste it!! Or Beggin' Strips....come on, who could resist trying those? They are made to look like a curly piece of bacon and the commercials sure seem to imply that they're tasty.

It always turns out to be disappointing, though.

I eat pet foods regularly as snacks and meals. 4

    I used to eat dog biscuits as a kid, quite yummy really. Also had the added benifit of giving my coat a healthy shine! :)

    My dogs are rude. They never brush their teeth before we make out so I've had a few bits of their food. I didn't like it :(

      oh my gosh! i did that last week. ive had scooby snacks grahm crackers before and lovedd them. i only had a few though, before my boyfriend pointed it out and told me hes never kissing me again -.-

    When I was little I dared my sister to eat dry cat food. I tried it after her reaction, worst thing ever. Seriously try avoiding cat food at all costs.

    I've never eaten my dogs food, heck I dont even have a dog. I plan on getting two lil pups sometime soon. (If you call soon 5 years from now.)Well, even when I get two lil doggies I wouldn't want to try their food. Not my dish.

    Once. My uncle bribed me with 5 dollars if I took a bite out of a piece of dry dog food.

    Worst 5 bucks I ever made.

    I don't feed my dog dog food...I give her regular food that she can eat. I heard some dog food brands put bits of horse meat in the food.

      it's quite true my aunt has lots of horses (for riding) and one of her older ones died of cancer, she sold the body to a pet food factory(she didn't whant to but she wasnt allowed to bury it).
      I don't give to my pets pet food, not so much because there might be horse meat but because there usualy isn't enough meat, most canned food only contains between 4and 10% meat (honestly horse meat is better than no meat, I know poor horses but I care more abaut my cat and dog) thats good for them the're are carnivores!! + what do they put in them instead of meat? lots of chemicals and E-numbers (artificcial colourings) with can cause lived problems in later age.
      I buy fresh meat from the butcher and cook it for them(it's actualy some times cheaper that canned food) wich is usualy the discarted stuff that humans don't particulary want to eat wich is good because the organs and stuff usualy has the most vitamines, or cheap minz meat, and they love it!! :P the just sit together watching me wile I'm cooking it and they look so cute!!

        see you have pet horses that makes sense you would be offended. Also the fact they made her sell her horse for food is messed up! id sue them if that was my pet.

          she was sad about it but she didn't know what else to do with the body, luckly is was one of her wilder horses so she wasn't to attached to it.
          seen as the land she keeps them on it not realy her own, but of a pubblic stable the didn't whant a cementary, and she coldn't find a pet cemetary that did horses. plus their VERY expensive

            She could of cremated it or burried it in her own yard. I buried animals old pets in my yard? or like out in forrest unihabited.

      Ok why is everyone so offended by horse meat? You do not all have horses I know not everyone does? Also you all eat god near anything but a horse is propostrioues!

        Oh no I'm a pescetarian. I don't really agree with any kind of animal abuse. You can eat meat I don't really care. But still I can imagine that horse meat must taste really gross.

          I know but people dont care until they realize its horse wether it tastes bad or not. I mean if you ade serving dog people are still less offended than if you say we butchered a horse? they care less of eating cat and dog long as you dont eat thiers in particular. If there is a horse the company is a villian! I mean honestly horses are a fantastic animal they are all muscle so the fact you would eat,them would be very helthy and more usful than cow or pig so why does everyone get so offended.

            I'd be offended more if it was a dog. I don't know why but maybe it's because most dogs have sweet personalities and cats too. It's just strange to me. Whatever floats your boat. I just get angry when the people who slaughter the animals make their death slow a painful. Practically torturing them. They put the animals in terrible living conditions. Some even rape the animals. Like wtf is that even necessary?

        I heard that in America they stopped doing that in the 70's. But I'm not sure... I also heard they do it in Canada still now a days.

    Pet foods and such are usually the mainstay of senior citizens and people with low income diets.Someday,when my food stamps run out I may partake of such myself.But-to answer the question,the answer is NO,I have'nt.

    Hamster chocolates (taste of nothing), dog toothpaste (tasted foul and made my tummy hurt) and cat and/or dog food once or twice.

    I used to love eating my dogs hard food. I remember we once bought him a huge bag of blue buffalo and he wasn't too taken with it, so I started to eat it. I really enjoyed it. However, I don't think I ever tried my cat's food and I know I never ate the fish food.
