Have you read the twilight books?

So I've noticed lately that there have been a few poles about the Twilight movies, most of which received negative feed back and comments, so my question to you is have you actually read the books? I'm asking this because the movies really do stink, but I've read the books and they proved to be quite interesting.

I've seen the movies and read the books and still hate Twilgiht. 8

  • I clicked the wrong option so I'll state my own here, I've seen the films which are meh but read the books which are less meh.

I read them when I was fourteen and loved them haha:L I read them again about a year ago and they really aren't the best but they definitely don't deserve the criticism they get. I thought they were entertaining, but didn't have a strong message or leave me thinking about it weeks later. A really good book does that to me.

I liked them when I was younger... I was NOT a fangirl, I just thought they were good. Now? NO.

No, I have no interest in the story or characters. the movies look terrible and how much better could the book be? Bella's character seems to be of a submissive and stupid nature and Edward seems like an arsehole.

I never got quite in to Twilight and I watched "New Moon" because the commercial made it look like it had hot vampire sex and violence and shit and to sum up my opinion of the movie: Waste of time.

My Aunt, however, told me that I can not judge the series without having read the book or knowing the storyline so I read the 1st book (which took me around 8 months).
I would would pick it up, read it, have my intelligence insulted (because it seems as if it was written at a 3rd grade reading level) and put it away somewhere.

I would pick it up again, read it, become bored with the lack of character/plot depth and put it back down.

I would pick it up again and I read to the point where Edward sat with Bella at the lunch table in the cafeteria and thought "WTF THIS IS THE PIVOTAL POINT OF THE BOOK!?" (maybe I should have read this when I was in high school, maybe the "drama" would have made more sense to me) and put it back down.

I finally finished it. Big waste of time.

Movies where rubbish. No emotion from the actors what so ever. But the books rock.

I didn't read the books until after the first movie came out, but I really love the series. I found it to be a very well-written and engaging story. I think we can almost all agree that the movies are never as good as the books, and for me, it was no different with the Twilight series. I really have to think of the books and the movies as separate entities, but if I had to rate the movies as compared to the books, I thought Twilight (the first movie) was pretty good, New Moon was okay, Eclipse left quite a bit to be desired, Breaking Dawn Part 1 was pretty great, and Breaking Dawn Part 2 was really great.

I think people who bash the Twilight Saga are kind of immature. People should be allowed to like different things without having others criticize them for it.

I once read an excerpt from it and it was fucking horrible. It was all over the place and confusing. That woman couldn't write her way out of a paper bag. I vow to never read those monstrosities!!!!

I've read all but the last one. The characters and plot were awful, but I'll admit that Stephanie Meyer can paint one hell of an image.

I've read Twilight, New Moon, and part of Eclipse. I saw Twilight and New Moon. I remember anything happening at all the New Moon and Eclipse.

  • The books were okay. Can't say they were a total waste of time..but yes, the movies are ridiculous. It saddens me how much credit they get.

I usually wait until a certain fad has calmed down some before I get into it. I probably won't read those books anytime soon, but maybe someday I will read them when everybody has forgot about them. I have seen part of the first movie, but that is about it. I didn't much care for it though.
