Have you or anyone know or known ever cheated death?

One time when I was 16, I was swimming in a pool and started to get out as I realized a thunderstorm was approaching for I heard a thunderclap. Lightning struck the pool maybe 10 second after I'd just climbed out via the ladder which was also a conductor.

An old boyfriend of my sister's when he was 14 went to an amusement park one time. As he was about to get onto a roller coaster, he had to go to the bathroom badly. He couldn't hold it any longer, so he ran to the lavatory hoping he could catch the next ride. Little did he know, the cart ran off the track and everyone on the ride was killed.

An old friend of my mom's went to the University of Texas during the 1960s. He was walking around campus the day Charles Whitman mowed all those people down with a sniper rifle. The guy next to my mom's friend got shot. My mom's friend ran like hell into the bookstore and hid there until it was all over. He said he'd never been so scared in his life. Have you known anyone else who dodged a bullet with his/her name written all over it? No pun intended.

I've cheated death many times until it finally caught up with me. They say when you die you see a white light. I saw nothing. Upon my re awakening I remembered nothing.

    Several times myself actually.
When I was born I was deprived of oxygen due to the cord wrapping around my neck.
Age 2 or a few years older I got an illness that had me bedridden and throwing up my stomach lining.
Age 9 i drownt. Blacked out under the water and saw hundreds of floating orbs under the water, i remember internally making peace with the universe and wishing for the well being of my family. Next thing I'm aware of I'm back in shallow water coughing up loads of water. No one saved me, i don't know how I survived.
Age 15-16 I decided to scale some inland cliffs without any gear, they were the size of houses and fairly rocky so they were easy to climb but when I got to the top the ground was all loose and I went sliding back down to the edge (The top of the cliff had a slope up to a bit of flatland).
I stopped half a foot away from falling to my death.
Got hit by a van once but i was lucky as only the side mirror hit me.
Taken many risks jumping off swings and roundabouts when they're in full motion and very nearly broke many bones in the process but i walked away from all of these incidents.

I had a dream I was falling off a giant tower, but woke up. It was terrifying, I should have died

I didn't cheat death; I was just saved.

When I was 4 or 5, I ended up falling in the deep part of the pool. There were no lifeguards in that area.
    My aunt's ex-husband saved me.

Eventually, the pool closed down since so many people died there. >.>

I can recall almost getting hit by cars a few times as a kid due to running across the street without looking. I was so stupid back then. lol

That isn't really cheating death, just good timing. My father inlaw died on the table during surgery but the doctors managed to bring him back. He cheated death.

Are you sure your blood doesn't attract this sort of thing? A psychic told me once that I had dodged death but I really can't be sure unless it was something that involved drugs or this one time when I was little I apparently drank a whole bottle of cough syrup.

One time I got caught in a riptide, so I suppose I could have drowned had I not swam at at a diagonal back to shore. If I had just kept trying to swim back the way I came I guess I would have gotten worn out, because it was like a treadmill. Anyway, I made it, so meh.

That's not what I call cheating death, one time, when I was 8, We went to the beach. It was midnight and there was no one around so I wanted to swim alone ( I had started swimming for a few weeks back then) and feel "badass". My left foot got stuck in a fishing net. I was water treading for 4 hours straight until some local fishers found me, I was scared of the water for months! That's what I call cheating death.

I was born extremely premature and contracted meningitis C, the doctors told my mum I was going to die but I didn't. I've also been run over, nearly drowned and electrocuted twice. The single most nearest time to dying though was once when I nearly got hit by a bus when I was waiting to cross the road.

  • I once ran a red light and was inches away from getting plowed by a semi truck. I probably would have died.
