Yup. I work in a company, where I have to speak two languages. Sometimes three (my native language) to talk to clients.

I work predominately in English in my line of work as the vehicular language in Finance is English.

English is vital in establishing connections with clients from other countries. However I'm finding myself struggle when I converse with people in my own language due to a lot of business jargon is English and also the fact I did my studies in English which most universities offer when it comes to Finance and commerce.

A client of mine said he will present his "Overeenstemmingsverklaring" I had no idea what it meant at first.

Are you planning on doing it or is that just a random question out of curiosity?

If Spanish is not your native language, of course it counts. How did you do? I mean, was easy or hard for you!

Well, Spanish is my 2nd language. I started as a 10th grader learning it and had a knack for it. I ended up being an interpreter in federal court including simultaneous interpretation which normally only native speakers of both languages can do.

Why do you mean "Working in"? As in you are in a job that speaks nothing but another language? If your not in an entirely different country I am not sure how this would be an issue. I am trying to learn another language. I dont have classes though.

I can manage a vessel, dealing with the officials, handling cargo, purchasing fuel, provisions and getting repairs, in just about any language, but I can only pick up girls successfully, in four.
